Pakistan plans to kill Indian envoy? Communication intercepts expose plot

If pakistan wants to escalate things and introduce assassinations, rest assured, India wont sit idle but can and will strike back. Remember..it always is pakistan which starts things and India which finishes it...be it wars or insurgencies. And now...assassinations.

Which assassinations? :what:
If you are talking about that intercepted communication than may i say it was same RAW & IB which broadcasted photos of suspected terrorists who were at that time in the country, and later it was found out that those suspected militants were in lahore and photos were taken off their facebook.
So my dear we gonna need more than an intercept this time around

I dont get this "Pakistan is fighting a war" - what war? with whom? are your troops stationed in Afghanistan? are your troops officially in any war?

If it's against terrorists, then India at war since decades - against foreign militants infiltrating in Kashmir and against Maoists - so it makes no difference.

HDI? India's population is 1.21 billion, yours is 200 million and we are better than you - so what does that prove?

Yeah right.. lol after 65+ years you are finally slightly ahead of us... with a 450 million poor and 750 mil without acces to sanitation... indeed ur "winners".

We have been fighting that same war for two and a half decades involving similar amount of troops and resources. But then the difference here is we aren't on the verge of going kaput....

incidentally that should make us better fighters then.

Yeah right kid... try fighting an enemy tht 53 countries could defeat since 12+ years.

@Elmo @Aeronaut @nuclearpak i think its time to wrap up this discussion as it has become a troll fest and personal insults.

Well tbh it doesnt matter for how long you have been fighting the war, what matters is HOW you have been fighting the war. Just look at US, HOW they wrapped up the war in Iraq and north afghanistan

Unlike Pakistan, other countries take measures against terrorist attacks.

Unlike India other countries doesn't kill his own peoples in 2001 parliment drama, or 2008 Bombay Drama

Pakistani propaganda video . It has been discussed to death and dismissed few days ago .

The only good thing about the video is the soldiers killing the terrorist .

I hope you guy's will keep it up, killing terrorists like in 1984, gujrat massacre etc, because it's matter of national identity for Hindu Banya

Yes...indeed I was referring to the intercepts. RAW warned that an attack might take place and good heavens...it happened!!! There might be some inputs which might go awry but most of the times it is correct and I'm glad that the envoy is safe and RAW is successfully monitoring ISI's activities.

Are your sure you have been fighting this war proper?

Can you say you have been fighting this war better than us?

You don't make any sense .

LOL, The normal development graph is supposed to go up not down over a period of time. This is where the 1 billion difference in population brings in the huge problems.

LOL, and you haven't done any better against the rag tag militia till now, at least we have the 23,000 unmarked graves to show as trophies.

(Reuters) - Insurgents attacked the Indian consulate in Afghanistan's eastern capital on Saturday, killing nine people and reinforcing fears that a bloody regional power struggle will be played out in the country once most foreign troops leave.

Twenty-three people were wounded when checkpoint guards stopped three attackers in a car as they approached the consulate in Jalalabad city, the office of the governor of Nangarhar province, Gul Agha Sherzai, said in a statement.

Two attackers leapt from the car and a gunfight broke out, while the third detonated explosives. No Indian officials were killed, though the blast badly damaged a mosque and dozens of homes and small shops nearby.

India condemned the attack and, without naming any country or group, blamed outside forces.

"This attack has once again highlighted that the main threat to Afghanistan's security and stability stems from terrorism and the terror machine that continues to operate from beyond its borders," the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.

Arch-rivals India and Pakistan have long vied for power and influence in Afghanistan. Many see their struggle intensifying after the departure of most international forces by the end of next year.

Afghans fear the void left by the NATO-led foreign forces could lead to yet another round of bloody external interference in the impoverished and violence-racked country.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai is seen as close to India and strongly opposed to the Taliban, who some say is supported by elements of the Pakistani state, in particular its powerful intelligence agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

The Taliban, which spearheads armed opposition to Karzai's Western-backed government, denied responsibility for Saturday's attack on the Indian mission close to Pakistan's border.

Attacks on the Indian embassy in Kabul - there were two during 2008 and 2009 that together killed more than 50 people - led to accusations by Karzai that Pakistan was attempting to compromise India-Afghanistan relations. He gave no evidence for his assertion, and Pakistan denied it was true.

Earlier on Saturday, India's Mail Today reported that New Delhi's ambassador to Kabul was recently warned that the ISI had paid the Haqqani insurgent network - which is allied with the Taliban - to assassinate him.

"It was a specific alert. A team of security officials was sent to Afghanistan for a security review and it has made some recommendations. Clearly the aim is to pin down our top diplomat so we back off from our work," a senior official told the daily.

Indian foreign ministry spokesman Syed Akbaruddin declined to comment on the report, which was sourced to Indian officials who had seen communication intercepts.

A Pakistani security official dubbed the report "nonsense". "Why would we do such a thing when we are trying to improve economic ties with India?" he said.
