. . . . .
That is a target drone you see launching in the start. Not the missile that was tested.

You can also make out the JF17 launching a missile later on in the video.
Ok, my bad, didn't watch all the footage and assumed it was a SAM.

.
Pakistan tested 2 (AAM) missiles today from JF-17 one BVR and IR guided. The tests were done from Sonmiani test rage. Under the advanced weapons program of Pakistan. the test were conducted on a stealth drone. the test resulted successful. JF-17 just became Bhramos killer.

Notice the plaque(s) presented to CAS. There seem to be various tracking radar systems (I suspect) below. This really is a test of that equipment I think. I believe @Oscar and @Bilal Khan 777 have mentioned before that we were in the process of getting a modern test range to test aerial munitions. Perhaps this is it. Just speculating though.

Well since Pakistan Requested a long range sea clearance , there might be more goodies ?

If Pakistan was merely testing a Air to Air Missile would not make sense to request such a long distance warning alert

The Current Air Cheif , has had some interesting milestones

a) Block 2 inducted in his time
b) Now BVR missile and Infrared Missile

Impressive stuff
