Pakistan Navy Multinational Maritime Exercise AMAN -2019



Multinational Maritime Exercise AMAN-19 concluded today. President of Pakistan, Chief Minister Sindh, Defence Minister, Minister of Defence Production, Chairman JCSC, three services chief, Ambassadors, defence and Naval attaches and number of other guests witnessed spectacular sea maneuvers and International Fleet Review in the North Arabian Sea. The exercise displayed a resolve of 46 countries under the title “Together for Peace”.

KARACHI: A Turkish naval ship named TCG GOKCEADA arrived in Karachi on 7 Feb for participation in Multinational Maritime Exercise AMAN-19, hosted by Pakistan Navy.

Upon completion of exercise, TCG GOKCEADA participated in PN-TN bilateral exercise `TURGUTREIS-III'. This is the third exercise of TURGUTREIS series; the earlier two were conducted in Pakistani and Turkish waters respectively.

Pakistan Navy Ships ALAMGIR, ASLAT and Long Range Maritime Patrol Aircraft (LRMP) participated in the exercise.

Personnel from both navies mutually benefited from exercise `TURGUTREIS-Ill' which included table top discussions in harbour on various modern day naval warfare tactics including maritime security procedures, experiences and areas of mutual cooperation.

Later, various maritime related maneuvers were conducted at sea which enabled the PN-TN crew to consolidate their tactical skills while also improving interoperability between two navies.

Pakistan and Turkey enjoy strong relations based on foundations of the religious bonding and cultural affinity. Pakistan and Turkish Defence Forces interact regularly on various forums.

In this regard, both navies have been actively collaborating in various professional interactions including multilateral and bilateral exercises. Turkish Navy is a regular participant of Exercise AMAN being conducted by Pakistan Navy since 2007.

Professional experience gained by both navies during bilateral exercises has been profoundly rewarding and will foster greater bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly navies.
 
PAKISTAN NAVY AND ROYAL MALAYSIAN NAVY CONDUCT BILATERAL EXERCISE.


Pakistan Navy and Royal Malaysian Navy conducted Bilateral Exercise MALPAK-II at Karachi. Royal Malaysian Navy Ships KD KASTURI and KD MAHAWANGSA had arrived Karachi on 7 Feb 19 to participate in Multinational Exercise AMAN-19. Upon completion of the exercise, Malaysian ships also participated in Bilateral Exercise MALPAK-Il with Pakistan Navy. This is the second exercise of MALPAK series; the first was conducted after completion of multinational LIMA exercise in Malaysian waters.

Pakistan Navy Ships SAIF with embarked helicopter Z9EC, PNS AZMAT and Long Range Maritime Patrol aircraft (LRMP) participated in the exercise. The bilateral exercise included joint planning and coordination at harbour followed by execution of the planned serials at sea.

The activities of harbour phase comprised pre-sail conference, visits of training facilities and communication checks. Personnel of visiting ships also participated in sports fixtures. Moreover, reception dinner was also held onboard PNS SAIF in the honour of visiting ships. Sea phase of exercise encompassed entire spectrum of Maritime/ Naval operations including Anti Surface, Anti Air and Search and Rescue exercises.
Pakistan and Malaysia enjoy long standing brotherly relations. Both countries cooperate in diverse fields of trade and military collaboration. In maritime domain, Pakistan and Royal Malaysian Navies have come a long way in terms of participation in Multinational/ Bilateral Exercises and exhibitions.
The visit of Royal Malaysian Navy Ships KD KASTURI and KD MAHAWANGSA to Pakistan for Exercise AMAN followed by Bilateral Exercise MALPAK-Il will further strengthen mutual collaboration and interoperability between two navies.

The Royal Navy deserves respect for sending their top of the line destroyer to this exercise.

sad to see that PN's OHP is armed with hand me downs from decommissioned type-21. crap armament.

Very true, and they can at-least put a main gun in the front .. but again I don't think that she will serve very long perhaps will stay a training ship.

sad to see such a durable ship going to waste.

Commander Dowsett added:

Both the harbour and sea phases of Aman provided my ship’s company with an all-too-rare insight into both the culture and tactics of our key regional partners.

In many respects the harbour phase, with its packed programme of social, cultural and sporting activities, was as important as the days spent at sea.


The opportunity to exchange ideas with Chinese, American, Australian, Emirati and Italian sailors - all in the same forum - was a fascinating experience.
