Turkish citizens are free to do whatever the heck they want in their own country in their own air forces.

Yes please.... If you are holding dual citizenship and by born from other country.... Turkish with dual citizenship but origin having from Turkey won't have a problem...

Pakistan on Thursday said a plan is under consideration to sign an agreement with Turkey regarding providing dual nationality to the citizens of two countries.

This came during a meeting between Pakistan Interior Minister Ijaz Ahmad Shah and Turkish Ambassador to Islamabad Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul, according to a statement issued by Pakistan’s Interior Ministry.

According to the statement, the Turkish ambassador on behalf of his government proposed that both the countries should sign an agreement regarding providing dual nationality to the citizens.

“In response to this, the Minister said that the draft is under consideration and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is on board with us, we hope to reach a mutual conclusion soon,” it added.

Shah also welcomed the mutual training programs and upgrading of equipment of Law enforcing agencies with Turkey.

"The Minister for Interior welcomed the initiative of introducing a patrolling force in collaboration with ICT Police on the model of Dolphin force introduced in Lahore," the statement said.

The ambassador and minister also mutually agreed on the continuity of the training programs being held to improve the capacity of the work force.

Yurdakul also informed the minister that the Turkish president is scheduled to visit Pakistan soon.

Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu is also expected to visit Pakistan in February and he will meet Shah to discuss bilateral matters, the statement said.

Pakistan’s interior minister was also informed that the Turkish Consulate that is under construction in the southern city of Karachi is the largest one in the world by Turkey.

Shah also extended condolences to the ambassador over the losses due to recent earthquake.

Guys don't get carried away... This is what it means.

A citizen who gains Turkish citizenship through marriage or other means would not have to abandon Pakistani citizenship. I don't know exactly how easy or difficult it is to obtain Turkiah citizenship.

However, we still have NICOP and CNIC for Pakistanis or Pakistani-origin citizens living in foreign countries.

It would help Turkish nationals gain Pakistani citizenship to work and do business in Pakistan too.

Win-win.

I ask only that we be cautious of Pakistani asylum seekers and expatriates who try to obtain Turkish nationality who have entered Turkey illegally. Ideally they should be deported back so we can deal with them.

That’s what i thought, 2 countries no matter how close, in terms of military, it is not recommended to hire people from other countries. Many problems :
- Blending with others, Arguments/Fights
- Possibility of espionage ( the other countryman might not be pro alliance rather be working for some third party)
- possibility of racism

I do support more synergy between Turkey and Pakistan.

There was once an interview of a Pakistani that was working in MKEK or some similar org so Pakistanis in certain mil related sectors can work (on case to case basis).

Dual nationality will help us further mainly in STEM/socio-economic sectors with cross pollination of knowledge from expats (not sure about mil as others have stated).

However, I hope it is not used by our corrupt to move funds offshore similar to how they do in UAE/UK and US.

In essence PakTurkiye are One Nation Two Flags... a thing I have been saying for some time now as @Hakikat ve Hikmet would testify....

We have so much more in common with them...aprart from not treating traitors as Turks do...

It hints at broader, deeper cooperation... in essence it says, if it comes to pass, that a deeper strategic alignment framework is reached between Two Flags!

There needs to be InterOperatability at every aspects of Our Two Flags not just nationality .... in our armed forces too.

A strong and prosperous Turkiye is in Pakistan's Strategic Interests... and same is True for Turkiye.

One hopes that Iran also sees the benefits and we can reach a broader alignment... this will aslo bring Peace in ME.

Both Flags have to fight The LastWar together starting with vulgar nemesis to our East!

Anyhow, let us keep our excitement in check... and see what comes about... I do suspect that there will be standard soundbites...but we both need each other like never before!

Depends on the nation you're with. For instance, Chinese and Pakistani militaries encourage junior level officers to intermingle and synchronize in terms of their professional thinking and outlook as well. The same is with Turks and Paks as well. It's sometimes desirable for the militaries to achieve that. The forces are a very different environment depending on what you do and what your rank is therefore it requires various levels of contact.

I'll give you an example, both PAF and Turkey use F-16s; hence, they encourage the contact between uniformed technicians (usually NCOs and JCOs) to hammer out possible kinks or problems as well. That's purely a technical thing because courses and on site job are two different things.

As far as spying is concerned then it's common courtesy not to do that and relevant agencies look into it to clear things up. From my experience, Pakistanis and Turkish military personnel have enjoyed very cordial personal relationships with each other built on mutual respect and understanding (heck, even the jokes would make you blush) and that gives this leverage to both countries that if we need each other because we understand each other we can easily work together.

You may be surprised to hear this but Pakistani and Indian officers get along well too especially in neutral zones or when working together such as under UN. Military teaches you how to be respectful to each other, even adversaries. I'd share a personal antidote of an officer getting a farewell gift from an Indian officer who'd served against each other across the same zone, the gentleman wrote, something akin to : 'It was the highlight of my career facing you as an adversary and an honor knowing you as a man, sir. Your unit is commendable and the epitome of military prowess. I wish you the best in life and hope to see you in better circumstances.' Many officers would not like the mudslinging that has become the norm here, one tenant of the military is to respect your foe because you're only as good as your foe.

Every turk no matter of ideology have special love for pakistan and pakistanis i refuse to believe that there is possibility of racism of course for arabs and others we might have biased opinion but for pakistanis never plus turk identity is wealthy can absorb other identities smoothly

What i feel is that, we may see a schengen style muslim version policy with three nations at the core Pakistan, Turkey and Malaysia.

If we look in past, the origin of Urdu (as an Example) tells us Pak and Turk can get along smoothly easily at all levels. And perhaps, therefore, this process is initiated by Pak and Turk. Once executed successfully, more relevent nations would join if desired.

What it may bring to all of us, time will tell.

I am not surprised Sir !!! Have heard that many times before and witnessed in the name of “Expats Pakistanis and Indians and how well they can SOMETIMES blend with each other.

As for My last message, you raised a good point that I didn’t write intentionally (so as to keep a single direction of message) about the work environment and officer level. That does matter a lot. After all, no one is more polished than military officers in masses, this is a civilian speaking here.

All this talks reminded me, the army of Akbar, Turks, Persian, Sub continent people, some Arabs, all under one banner and spend time together at barracks and fight together, thus giving birth to URDU.
