Well I told you guys about nuclear submarine and that its plant is being developed by Pakistan every one made fun of me and now Mr Oscar has confirmed what I was saying. So most things I said are coming or are in process

Well yes if we can manage to get the engine (it sill come with OPLOT M for sure but when i say the engine will come i mean that we get that with complete ToT and can start manufacturing in Pakistan) it will be great. All i can pray and wish for (once this happens, ie, the engine ToT is secured) is that OPLOT M were merely deal sweeteners and we keep pursuing a new MBT option (again, call it Al Haider or AK2 or whatever). The potential of any such project will be HUGE. We have discussed that in the past, me and @Bilal Khan (Quwa) and @Dazzler . Not that whether it will happen or not but WHAT IT IF DOES HAPPENS!! That will be great for us and will answers all our needs for decades.


Bringing it down a notch, an engine purchase with maintenance and overhauling facility along side some spare manufacturing is what is more realistic and will STILL BE GREAT. However i do hope that we push them for ToT, take that big step now as this is perhaps THE BEST opportunity (read Ukrainian crisis and problems with Russians)

Ukraine will give us engine technology I have no doubt about it. They have already shifted a major engine power plant in Turkey and they would produce engine in Turkey soon. They would share the technology with Pakistan I am looking forward for some Anti Tank weapons coming from Ukraine.

The talks are about buying along with overhauling and maintenance and some key component fabrication and not a full ToT. However i do feel that i will and SHOULD change to ToT. From Poland I am more interested in their future soldier program than Artillery.

It should be full TOT it would be our gateway to engine technology. Engine of every war machine are most crucial and difficult part and if we can manage to get our hands on engine technology than we should go for it other wise it would be criminal in nature to ignore it

true, HIT is in the process of retooling for AK-1 production.

AK 2 WOULD still be lighter and cheaper than Altay, and will pack a similar, if not more powerful punch.

Its not about punch only but about protection too.
Considering the fact that India is inducting more anti tank units in the form of advance ATGM as well as dedicated Tank hunter vehicles, its crucial to have active protection systems (Soft kill + hard kill) on out top tier tanks. Be it AK2/Oplot be it AK1/T80. Its necessity of this time and should be addressed. I consider Turkish Akkor APS as reliable option compared to Varta/Dazzler/Zalson which offer passive protection only.

Yep, thats true, both tanks have enough differences that it called for new equipment either be made through inhouse downstream industries and/ or through import.

I knew it although I can't understand what you wrote but I was told about it I had no clue than I had no clue I am only desperately trying to get my hands on pictures of AK 2

Sir we are going for ToT , its golden chance and we will take it. With very bright chance for OpM tank too , the tank will be great and best addition in its category and best to replace all old tanks (also T80 in future from active front role) and best brother in arm for AKs .
