And protection suite? Currently AK should be able to house two launchers of Akkor APS each with two smart projectiles. Similar to LEDS150 on Phoenix upgrade of Jordan's M60

Armor protection is great but vulnerable spots will remain there, Armor should be the last thing to protect the tank. APS should be first.

Not be a pessimist but 2 tanks per year and as per 2014 claims of A Brigadier Sahab of HIT marketing department where AK 10 upgrades were rolled back to 6 is not good enough when India is aggressively purchasing 3rd Gen Javelin and Israeli Spike Ground based and Air launched ATGM.

This is time for all in. Either quality upgrades shouldnot be compromised with a trade-off in Production line, less number of quality tanks produced each year due to costs or if they had rolled back quality backs, production should be increased.

Whereby Pakistan is decreasing the quality upgrades as well as production line !

It's not just zardari era, The recent MODP 2015 book claimed only 2 Al-Khalid tanks were produced. Which is regrettable because There are claims PA had to sacrifice their 5 year budget for PAF so that they can buy F-16 Jets.

So I would not be surprised if those AK to AK-1 upgrades to be less than or equal to 100. 150 Number seems to good.

Anyway, @Dazzler about that retooling, it was ON a few years back but then was almost put on hold. Back online? Have not talked about this to anyone but it will be a great news if we are working to enhance our production capabilities. Currently they are a bit disappointing to be honest.
Should i recheck or do you have any info for me?

It is called a hard kill active protection system. The problem with such systems is that the reliability of such systems cannot be verified. No hard kill APS system in the world has so far achieved desirable results to date.

Some Type-59 upgrade in china. They have many of them.
