Dude, Jane's news apparently knew about this 22 years ago...so much for secrets.IRST is very old. Atleast 20 years old. IRST is only usual for with in the visual range fights . It cant be tracked very silent. But it cant track targets.
IRST pods are very common in usa russia china pakistan oven india. But range is with in visual range.
Making videos like this is not recomended though. It can give clues to an ignorant and primitive enemy and give them some information advantage. Don't recomend videos like these until war time.
When we pakistaniz have anti stealth radars like yj-27C and YJ-28B why do we need IRST in permanent form? Pods are enough for that.
Sometimes its better to keep silent. Youtube money is ruining it for many!Dude, Jane's news apparently knew about this 22 years ago...so much for secrets.
Anyone have any details on this? This is really big news if true and by the looks of the Jane's news picture, it does seem to be true...
Agreed. But apparently, no one kept silent back in 1998. So...having said that, apparently the issue of the JF17 Thunder & other PAF fighters having IRST is not an issue at all, no?Sometimes its better to keep silent. Youtube money is ruining it for many!
Yeah, first time I've heard off it as well AND with news clipping from Jane's of all sources, Jane's is about as authentic as you can get on military aviation journalism.Havn't heard it before here on PDF. All senior members were in the favor of having a permanent IRST installed on JFT-III.
There will always be things which will he kept from public forums like this. Some people know them but keep silent for a greater good also it would be denied by armed forces right away cuz they are not official. Every country does this. Especially armed forces. Secrecy is good. We don't have a very smart enemy thats a blessing for us. God forbid if we were next to Israel or Russia and them as enemies that would have been so tough.Agreed. Anti-stealth radar systems? LMAO.On topic IRST is not that important since Aesa radars and stationary anti stealth radars of pakistan which are apparently public knowledge now. I hope there are no more mention of some suprises which are left for the battlefield.
Jy-27 variants and jy-28 variants are already stationed at more than 5 sites along longitude axis of pakistan. Easily visible and notified by american settalite imagery.Bro,
USAF was using IRST technologies back in the days of the Vietnam War. F-101 Voodoo is arguably the earliest example.
F-35 takes IRST capabilities to next level with its sensor fusion architecture incorporating EOTS and DAS which are not only mated to each other but also to the jet's radar system. This architecture enables weapons-grade IRST target acquisition in realtime - a capability not possible otherwise.
Anti-stealth radar systems? LMAO.
They are good radar systems but Anti-Stealth is marketing brochure.YJ-27 variants and YJ-28 variants are already stationed at more than 5 sites along longitude axis of pakistan. Easily visible and notified by american settalite imagery.
This was made public by europeans.
Aparently janes has done a article in it too in november they give out all the good stuff with in a year not fair... Atleast 2 years of peace time silence should be there. They are good radar systems but Anti-Stealth is marketing brochure.
