Pakistan will seek to purchase another 10 Lockheed Martin F-16C/D Block 52 multirole fighters from the United States after recently concluding a deal to buy eight of the aircraft.

A "decision in principle has been made to buy 10 more F-16s", a senior Pakistani government official told IHS Jane's on 7 March, while adding that "the exact timing to place an order is yet to be decided".

The US Department of State approved in February a sale of eight fighters - two single-seat F-16Cs and six twin-seat F-16Ds, along with associated equipment - for about USD699 million. The deal was opposed by some members of the US Congress on the grounds that Pakistan had not done enough against insurgents and terrorist groups active in Afghanistan.

The C295s are not anywhere near finalization. TATA has had only a tie up with Airbus nothing more.

As for the budget part, compare both budgets ( Amount spent upon, new procurement ) and the results.

While we add only 15-16 Flankers each year, they are adding near 24 aircrafts per year.

While we have not yet decided which AIP to use, they already have 2 MESMAs running.
While we are not able to decide that weather to say yes or no to A330MRTT, they have added 4 Il78s. While we are yet doing " NEGOTIATIONS " for artillery, they have added near 300 M109s, 72 Turkish 155mm, near 100 Chinese MRLS, and what not.

Leave it for some other thread some other day or will end up derailing the thread.

This reply only shows how much it hurts when one does not have faith in the flankers. Moreover it also indicates that what is told regarding the SU-30MKI is nothing much but lies regarding the capabilities.

All the other probable deals that are required are more or less heading no where because there is no political will. This is more to do with the propaganda warfare on media both print and electronic which raises a bigger evil within. Chest thumping and ignorance will give a major victory to ratings hence big money, which raises a question what is this money worth in banks where as this could be spent on development of the nation ?

Well question is ...will these planes would be the last ever cutting-edge tools for the PAF bought from USA? Or we have some possible future with Uncle Sam in this regard.? These planes are simply meant to fill in some gaps which no doubt was desperately required...We have to decommissione old vipers after 10 years or so....not to mention our old fleet of mirages and F7s which are very slowly getting outa service by thunders...point again is, we need a new platform other than vipers...and we have to figure it out soon.
