Pakistan looks to buy another 10 F-16s

Keep dreaming, after the delivery of 8 we will order the remaining 10, US deliberately doing this to lower the B.H level of Pakistan's neighbor.

Like I said before, India would protest if US sold Pakistan a butter knife. So whether US sells Pakistab 8 or 10 or 18 F-16s doesn't make a bit of difference as far as India is concerned, the response will be the same.

No. This all comes down to the only thing that matters: money. And it's clear Pakistan doesn't have much.

These LMwalas and SAABwalas, have opened their offices here, they need to show to their bosses in their respective nations that they are doing some work, so they pay some " Tom d1ck Harry " new paper to print anything.

Its not about options, its about requirements . At present only French and Russians fulfill them. So you can guess where new orders will be placed.

Don't loose sleep or even think about F16 in India, its like saying USA will gift George Washington to Chinese Navy.

indeed Pakistan should not worry over india building their own f16's as its only a concept/idea. not gonna happen. as they said 'influence' played a huge part in approving the deal and if india buys f16's the usa can kiss the influence goodbye. 8 were ordered and with the intent of exercising 10 more later. you dont buy one and a half squadrons. its like india buying 30 rafale's which is only enough for 1 and two thirds of a squadron. i would assume the first 8 are to make the deal more congress happy as its only a very small number of jets. once the has gone through(which yesterday it has) then they will be given options for 8 more. if you watched the defense and diplomacy video they said this deal was from the previous deal. where they originally wanted 36 jets but the 2005 earthquake meant the order was halved but they had options for 18 more. this is basically to bring the 18 more. in 2 increments of 8 and 10.

also the part where you said they are using it 5000 time better than us (pakistan). can you elaborate more on that, minus the rafale. also i thought tata was building the c295's?

The C295s are not anywhere near finalization. TATA has had only a tie up with Airbus nothing more.

As for the budget part, compare both budgets ( Amount spent upon, new procurement ) and the results.

While we add only 15-16 Flankers each year, they are adding near 24 aircrafts per year.

While we have not yet decided which AIP to use, they already have 2 MESMAs running.
While we are not able to decide that weather to say yes or no to A330MRTT, they have added 4 Il78s. While we are yet doing " NEGOTIATIONS " for artillery, they have added near 300 M109s, 72 Turkish 155mm, near 100 Chinese MRLS, and what not.

Leave it for some other thread some other day or will end up derailing the thread.

1. really?....... i thought it was a done deal. any idea how long your looking at to actually start production.

2. well thats the only reliable source of jet induction you have. all you need to do is keep the availability rate up.

3. i thought the french are giving mesma aip's. for the first 6 and the other will be indigenous with a fuel cell aip. just have them all as mesma then you dont have the problem for maintenance of up keeping the same class sub but with different propulsion. it's a financial and logistical nightmare. its basically asking for trouble.

4. tbh i forgot you wanted those until you mentioned it. the question is why spent so much the the mrtt when you can spend less and have a jet thats near enough the same [the il-78 with ps-90 engines] again why make life hard when it can be easy. upgrade the current il-78 [also with new engines] and buy more of them. quick, easy and cheap. what more can you ask for?

5.well first of congrats on actually seeing the issues of india as many users here fail to see them. [hence why i thanked your post] and thats a good thing. a more streamlined procurement process is required. also let me share an intresting fact with you. when india and Pakistan[west] partitioned. west Pakistan inherited 33% of the armed forces. which is airforce, navy and army. consider the size of india to Pakistan and you will find Pakistan was a country with a massive military. and the military played a part in how the country was run, they still do. so when you say they are using it 5000 better. its because they get what they want and nobody questions them[ not even congress or parliament] as they are an integral piece of the country. whilst the indan armed forces is an add-on.
