Pakistan has top-of-the-line US arms

Dear Interceptor,

What are your views on being too dependant on US Arms since we all know that US have sometimes been fair weather friends ?

Also I am curious can these arms given by US for eg like the Harpoons be jammed/disabled/led astray by them using a secret in built code in a war scenario they don't approve ?

Regards

US is the worlds biggest arms trader and it has got an enormous market where it sells its arms. The use of US arms isn't very reliable as you may know that the Pakistanis bought the F-16's and later the US pulled out offensively by sanctioning Pakistan. Pakistan had to go through hardship of finding parts for this system unless it cooperates with the US.

When the US sells arms it only sells it for its purpose, in the Mid 80's the US use to buy arms from different regional markets. The arms were Russian made and the US use to ship them in tons to Pakistan so to distribute them to the Afgans, however, the Pakistanis use to keep a fair a mount of them the US noticed this and sent shipments as required, however, this time they places a bomb that would destroy the depot station where the Pakistanis use to store the arms.

The US has all ways been friendly to a Dictatorship and used this friendship very well for its own needs.

The Harpoons if they can be sabotage, they can be, however, the warhead is taken off and put in a separate storage area the Pakistanis would know if the system is been tweaked, they can test them and even open them if necessary. However, the US can stop the Pakistani Cruise missile if it wishes too as it is a GPS guided system and the US controls nearly all GPS satellites in the world that is possible.

I believe the encounter in the 80's when the US blew one of the weapons storage stations in Pakistan was a missile and therefore it is possible to do this again.

Dear Interceptor,

I agree. Everything USA gives as aid including arms comes with a hidden price.

AQ Khan, a metalurgist who graduated from Berlin and Leuven (Belgium) initiated the HEU programme based on his experience with Unrenco, a tri-nation Uranium Enrichment Company based in Almelo (Netherlands). Pu programme was put aside as HEU became top priority but never fully abandoned.
We're running both programmes now.

I'm not too sure about this but you chaps appear to have been having problems with enriching uranium. I've just forgotten how it came about.....let me think it over.

US may control GPS 'P' grade signals but you can always use third graded signals with less accuracy using 3rd party devices available in international illegal market easily.

US cannot stop some device from capturing the civilian GPS signals.

Either way mate, it remains a challenge to be overcome for the forces on the front.
