With Iran and KSA, it is lost cause. I doubt Pakistan will be there for either nation. It is just formality for the protection of Makkah and Medina since i doubt Iran will be dumb enough to risk the angers of the billions Muslim population by attacking on Makkah and Medina never mind their faith into the account.

If Pakistan deals with Iran instead of KSA, they would have no problem either way. That's how lost they are due to sectarian mindset that has gone long enough to have plagued the entire middle east with proxy wars in form of terrorism to undermine the stability of the Muslim worlds.

Pakistan should beware both of them just to be safe. A little lesson to the history of Ottoman Empire should serve well. Better yet, ask Turks in regards to KSA/Iran. They know them better than anyone in the history of the world.

Why don't you ask your fellow countrymen? Apparently your country has an agreement with Saudi Arabia for defence, which included Pakistani forces helping KSA government during the siege of the grand mosque in 1979.

On what grounds does a foreign country decided to commit itself in any military capacity to another country? Why would the Arabs allow you access to their military facilities unless they had an agreement of defence treaties with your government?

Are you telling me that the decades of Pakistani military instructors present in Arab military academies has been purely unilateral? Because that is not possible in international diplomacy.
