Pakistan getting orders for Missile Boats : Naval Chief

.
that's great..
i didn't knew Pakistan has capacity to build 3000ton warships..
what about destroyers???did pakistan plan any?
There are no reports of any such development. However it is understood that the Zulfiqar class frigate is the first step and PN is interested in bigger frigates with better air defense and there were talks about heaver 5000 ton frigates based on Type 54 armed with additional VLS for HQ-16 air defence missiles. If that goes through, some of the ships surely will be manufactured in Pakistan.

If we check the history section of Karachi Shipyard and Engineering works, it shows that the largest ship that they made was 'MV Islamabad' in 1983 with a DWT (DeadWeight Tonnage) of 18200 Tons.

The Projects section provides the details of all kinds of boats/ships produced by KS & EW.

They produce many more things:
  • Sugar plants / machinery
  • Overhead Cranes (up to 100 tons capacity)
  • Industrial boilers and pressure vessels
  • Cement plants
  • Flood light and wind turbine towers
  • Equipment for petroleum and petrochemical industry
  • Drilling rigs
  • Structures for power plants
  • Barrage Gates

Why not they take orders from PNSC by offering them new tankers-cargo-container-LNG vessels based on the same ship producing with Turkish help?
