The respective Patron in-Chiefs killed the cricket.Afridi killed Pakistan cricket.
Not single handedly thou,Afridi killed Pakistan cricket.
Sohail kukri Tanir
Sethi is not known for his management skills. Again, the respective PMs have run the PCB like they have run other institutions such as PIA, Railway, WAPDA, Steel Mill etc. Years of mismanagement and nepotism has brought PCB to this state. Today you make it independent and you'll see how fast Pakistan cricket would regain its former glory. The real problem is the quality of the pool of players to select from.
PCB thick tank think selecting players on basis of FC performances for ODI games is the right think to do. For me that reeks of desperation.
Firstly the pool of players in domestic cricket are mostly sifarish. When good ones come through they are sidelined. For example Sohail kukri Tanir is captain of a Pak domestic team and he is intentionally leaving out Hammad Azam to keep his place.
Umar Amin allegedly paid for a days worth of full tosses in a domestic game.
Improve the playing standards by regulating what the domestic teams are doing when selecting players.
Scouting system needs overhaul. Instead of paying for a selection panel who are in reality a bunch of late 60 somethings with complete disconnect with ground realities in domestic scene.
Instead why not a chief scout or selector and give up a large network of scouts with a good eye to tour Pakistan for talent. Very important these people are not willing to entertain sifarish.
Top sports teams have a solid scouting system. I just do not understand why PCB don't get this. Sethi laid out the management structure but he did not do anything for its support function.
What a poor job. I would have thought someone with the intellect of Sethi would see the big picture.

This thought towards a soldier I am afraid needs revisiting ,
Soldiers fight for a variety of reason - Loyalty to the nation, Izzat / respect of their regiment , tradition etc are only some of them.
Most definitely not for the salary. No one would willingly put himself in harms was for the salary alone. This is too shallow a thought.
The profession of arms is way above financial remuneration.

Now he has decided to resign in the middle of a world cup. Must have realized what happened to Bob Woolmer in 2007.

True. These morons don't play for free but are handsomely paid from the tax payer's money. In effect, they are our servants, who we pay to entertain us. On top of that, they earn millions from the ads etc., and when it comes to perform, nothings significant.
Tax payer's money??
sir you are way too mild and too kind.
I do not have the moral right here, and neither is my dad a member, so I am waiting for a fauji, serving or retired, to come here and tear this guy a new one.
I did not serve my country for the salary. Yes, many people do take issues like pay and benefits as factors into their reasons to serve, but for a volunteer force, patriotism do matter into one's motivation to serve.
I agree 100% with you. Nobody wants to leave parents grieving for dead son, neither one wants beautiful wife be widowed and kids orphan for few lakhs/thousands.
I understand the anger but no none of them are paid by our tax payers...True. These morons don't play for free but are handsomely paid from the tax payer's money.
