On 15 January 1983, the PAF took delivery of the first six of 40 F-16A/B Block-15 (ordered under the Peace Gate I program). The very first F-16 to land at Sargodha – serial number 82602 – was flown by then Squadron Leader Shahid Lateef, who would later become Vice Chief of Air Staff (VCAS).
The 40 F-16s were deployed with the No. 9 and 11 squadrons in Sargodha, and the No 14 squadron in Kamra. Through the 1980s, the PAF’s F-16s secured at least 8 confirmed air-to-air kills of intruding Soviet and Afghan combat aircraft attempting to interdict the Mujahedeen’s staging grounds in Pakistan’s northwest region.

what we wish is different to what actually happens.
there is no other country strong enough and advanced enough to challenge America or be even close.
its ok to hate on the top dog but the closest under dog is lights years behind.

the thread is about world's most successful fighter Jet which PAF has used and humbled both the Communist regime in Soviet Afghanistan and the Indians.
whether Americans are hated or loved and isolated is absolutely irrelevant.

please leave some threads to what they are.
The dynamics of being a top dog are unimaginable for different nations. Looking back at the British and the French in the past does not give us much confidence on what will happen when another dog achieves the top dog position. Expecting the top dog to be more benevolent than the previous top dog is madness. In position of power all nations have let loose a reign of tyranny. This is something we need to be vary of. We do need to stop looking outwards and start looking at our own resources and development. Far too long have we relied on others while the dogs within the system have run riot with our exlconomy siphoning their loot off 8n far away lands to safe havens. This remains the challange for all developing nations.
