Pakistan Declares Public Holidays On Holi, Diwali and Easter

Very bad if it happened. But Iqbal is still the cherished national poet of Pakistan and the education system mentions him multiple times. Why not Jogindar Nath Mandal also be mentioned? Iqbal has its place but each country struggles to invoke nationalism and acceptance of their nationality among minorities. In Lucknow we are taught about Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad in a very positive way even though he was nothing more than a traitor who stood against the basic demands of Muslims. If this wasn't true 75%+ of the Muslims in Indian occupied parts would not have voted for Jinnah and the Muslim League.

The point is they are trying to build a separate Indian identity around Abdul Kalam Azad the nationalist. I don't know why we can't do the same around Joginder Nath Mandal for our hindus. Our minorities need a sense of inclusion. Instead our treatment of them as seperate or outside the national fabric does not help.

These were pretty late figures to enter the Pakistani political/judicial/entertainment scenario. The real political bigwigs who had a role in creating Pakistan included people like Zafarullah Khan, Joseph Pottan and Jogindar Nath Mandal. All of them are non muslims and had a role in the creation of Pakistan. Jinnah promised us a secular country where minorities would be protected.

Problem was soon after Pakistan's creation the concept of Jinnah's Pakistan was hijacked (things I do not wish to discuss but we both know why) and now the religious right wing groups currently are wielding more power. Can the secular system ever now work?

I despair when I saw that people are offering flowers for the murderer Qadri and the late Shahbaz Bhatti when there was a 2 minute silence in the Parliament most members stood up apart from a few in the Jamaat, also still to this day nobody has been charged with his murder which is shameful as this man stood up for something worthwhile.

Lol at those opposing this decision by saying Hindus and Christians are low in numbers or by giving the example of Western countries. Firstly, their numbers are deliberately under reported. Secondly even officially their populations are in the millions which is significant. Both Sindh and Punjab have a very large presence of Hindus and Christians respectively. Thirdly, Hindus and Christians are natives of Pakistan, this isn't the case for Muslims in the West. The vast majority of Muslims in the west are immigrants.

The Census will tell us the true picture later this year as the last one was done in 1998

Here it comes Pakistan with taking another step to move forward, to walk to the right direction. Great news.

Exactly right. Also its animals. And on both counts, Pakistan's reality is abysmal, holidays or no holidays.
So what kind of animal cruelty you faced in Pakistan?
