Pakistan-China Joint Exercise "Shaheen VII - 2018"

F-16 squadrons cannot participate with PLAAF. Ask any of the former OCs who have left the service. Most would not want to comment on it. You may assume all you want with the Gulf Shield exercises with the Thunders participation, but that is not the same model concept under which PAF Vipers have been restricted to be used tactically in aerial maneuvers with PLAAF.

Imagine this. During Shaheehn VII, all of a sudden the sirens start blaring at Shahbaz. Block 52s are scrambled which identify and intercept unknown Flankers which they proceed to engage. When any pilot achieves a favorable position for firing, they suddenly realize the support guys mistakenly loaded training missiles. Having nothing better to do, they just keep engaging in WVR skirmishes until bingo fuel is reached, whence they return to base. Later they enjoy snacks with Chinese pilots flown over to Shahbaz and they realize these are the guys they duked out earlier. A lot of professional interexchange of ideas takes place.

Disclaimer: If this post sounds funny, it probably is. But then, the world is full of funny things.

Chinese J-10C fighter at China-Pakistan air exercise

This year's China-Pakistan joint international air exercise dubbed Shaheen-VII kicked off at a Pakistan air force base, Times of Islamabad reported on Sunday.

China's Air Force has sent a number of aircrafts to take part in the exercise, including several J-10C fighters.
The joint exercises are due to last 24 days.

The J-10C is an improved version of China's J-10 fighter. It is equipped with an Active Electronically Steered Array system (AESA), as well as an opto-electronic detection system to improve combat situations. The J-10C was activated for combat duty in April, 2018.

"The J-10C is more capable of locating targets. The new technology on-board gives it an edge during an air-to-air combat," said Wang Zhiming, a Chinese military specialist. "The J-10C is a significant upgrade to the Chinese Air Force, and significantly improves China's air defenses."

"This year's Shaheen-VII exercise will enhance bilateral military and political ties, and will help enhance the capability of the air forces of the two friendly neighbors," said Commodore Syed Muhammad Ali with the Pakistan Air Force.

Next year's "Shaheen" air exercises, which have been annual events since 2011, will be held in China.

Seeing that it's a fairly close counterpart to the likes of the Rafale/Eurofighter, it should give both air forces a taste of what's to come when the IAF receives its Rafales in 2019.

It'll also be the first time that both air forces experimented with an AESA-equipped fighter, I think. Anyways, any photos will be appreciated.

We should pitch F-16s against them to see how they perform against the vipers. As for US concern well these are the last of the F-16s anyway so who cares. Let the americans whine and bitch about it.
I second the idea.

Guys ... do we really need once again three separate threads for nearly exactly the same topic??

We already have these two

... so why a third one??
There are reportedly four different types of PLAAF aircraft participating in the exercise but Chinese media is exclusively mentioning only the J-10 C......surely not without reason.

There are reportedly four different types of PLAAF aircraft participating in the exercise but Chinese media is exclusively mentioning only the J-10 C......surely not without reason.

But with all respect, why does this need a separate thread then? Or will we start - if the other three types were also identified - then three more threads for each other PLAAF aircraft, and why then not in the CHinese Military section, but here?

IMO Shaheen is a marvel of joint exercise - and surel ywoth ONE individual thread, but why THREE?? - and similar to the export prospects or production Blocks and radars, it's a nasty habit here in this forum tah some certain members ALWAYS start new threads even for a minor news report, that would perfectly fit into a well establsihed thtread.

We have I think 7 threads on the JF-17B, at least 5-7 on different radar options, now 3 each for the JF-17 for Nigeria, Myanmar and now eventually Iran's interest.

Why??? Would it not be much easier to follow the latest developments if all members would take more care?

So we have a plethora of threads ... and after some new posts they are lost - and as such their information - since they are buried in pages and pages below.

Where are they?

Let's go there with binoculars and cameras :D
just saw the thread and belive me i saw one above my head far from sargodha 30 km its lalian district of chiniot could manage to see 1 bcoz of clouds there was one following but cant see that
