Even if the news is correct (which I highly doubt) 10 years time is very little as compared to the order we already have (150+) for PAf. With 15 AC coming out of the assembly line every year, it will only be sufficient for our own needs. Even if there is no such restriction, it would take us 8-10 years to deliver first batch to any of the customers.

Strange thing is, that is the jet had not been allowed to be sold, then why show it off to the world or potential buyers at international exhibitions.

farnbrough air show

Zhuhai air show

and in near future, coming to more air shows.

Plus, its the Chinese company, which has invested half of the amount in its making.

Not a credible news, just the same journalistic intellect which we see from time to time in matters related to defence.

I wish that this is true :)

LCA mark-1 which is failed and not as per IAF requirement will become operational in 2014 and LCA-mark 2 in 2017/18 so even if we start sellin JF-17 in 2018 it won't be a problem and i hope by 2015 WS-13 engine will become part of JF-17.

this thread is about jf 17. so my friend kindly stick to thread

its mainly about IP, China owns the majority of the IP so why would they have Pakistan selling their planes ? As noted before no one here has been able to prove Pakistan's involvement in the initial stages of the SDLC and that point is reaffirmed by the statement that proves that Pakistan still does not have a majority stake in the JF-17. It can indulge in licensed production but not indulge in any kind of third party sale. This type of an engagement is very common this industry. The news is credible but some people will not accept it anyhow.

Lol China is considers attack on Pakistan attack on China but doesn't allow it's new best friend to export a aircraft like JF-17.Chinese foreign policy exposed.

You guys seriously derail the topic when your troll mode is on.

When has Pakistan gone alone to sell the fighter jet ?? In all air shows, the Chinese staff of the manufacturer has been around. Pakistan is not even currently making the airframe 100% on its own, leave alone the engine which is coming from China after bought from Russia. Avionics are coming from China.

Are you guys mad or in troll mode the logical thinking goes numb ??

We are depended on Chinese for our JF-17s and we will go alone to sell these jets ?? Don't tell me you guys can't think logically.

We never went alone with the sale of the jet as we can't. This is a joint venture and sale and marketing is a joint venture too. Orders if any received will be shared accordingly, as well as the sale proceeds.

So, kindly think with the minds given by God and quit the troll mode, or i will off the troll mode.

Same for other members.

People here do not even know the meaning of a JV and such use that term so freely. A JV in any development is not a automatic 50/50 or does not have to result in a profit sharing agreement. A JV can be production only JV or can be research JV etc etc, there are hundreds if not thousands of types of JV's in the world. A JV in one module does not mean a JV in everything else. Just because Pakistan like to attach the term JV to everything does not mean that China will give you the rights to treat the JF-17 like your own aircraft. Pakistan has production rights but cannot market the product or indulge in sales regardless of the amount of patents it owns. No where has China mentioned that orders will be shared or the sales proceeds. The sales proceeds will be alloted in accordance of the production contracts set in the MSOW which China holds. China owns the SEA and the PA, therefore Pakistan can only do what China authorizes it to. If you can prove to me who owns the masters agreements then please reply back, otherwise whatever you say makes no difference, the truth is obvious, just bitter to swallow.

Actions speak louder than words. It is time China backs its words by actions favourable to Pakistan. If not, all the talk of strategic talk comes to zero. Out of interest, India and Russia have a JV for Brahmos. Hope we do not get in to such a situation in the future.

the whole claim of "PAKISTAN CANNOT SELL THUNDER" is a total BS!!!

He said Pakistan requested for frigates of 4400 tons on credit basis and also asked the Chinese government to train Pakistani personnel on submarines.
The Minister further stated,”We are grateful to the Chinese government for constructing Gwader Port. However, we will be more grateful to the Chinese government if a naval base is being constructed at the site of Gwader for Pakistan”.
Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani told his Chinese counterpart that their programme of JF-17 Thunder Aircraft was going on successfully, but it would be a pleasure “for us if the PLA (Peoples Liberation Army) will induct the aircraft in their air fleet. This will give us a lot of publicity to our aircraft and we will be able to sell a larger quantity of the aircraft to bring down the cost.
The Chinese government subscribed to our request to equip our Air Force with FC-20 Aircraft”.

OK, a recap from a Pakistani source

The Chinese government did not agree with a proposal from Pakistan for selling JF-17 multi-purpose fighter planes produced by Pakistan and China jointly. Pakistan has received offers for the sale of the planes about four times more than what these planes cost Pakistan. The Chinese have asked Pakistan not to sell the planes before the expiry of 10 years of the production of the same.

As far as I know , demand for 4th gen fighters would end by 2020 , coz all those countries who are likely to purchase it would have ordered it from china ,and those who are left would have purchased second hand F16 from USA
While countries with decent amount of money would like to purchase Either the gripen or the J10B
Production of High end 4.5 GEN fighters too would end by 2025
with production of Typhoon closing in 2015 without Indian order and that of Su35BM / Su30MKI/J11 ending by 2018
While Rafale Could remain in service till 2024 thanks mainly due to the massive french order of 294 aircrafts and a possible indian order for 200 Aircrafts + a Brazillian order for 36-100 aircrafts

Okay good let the world buy F-16nz ...then ...LOL...we dont care...:)
