Russian Foreign Minnister Lavrov condemns NATO air attack on Pakistan checkpoints

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has called for an investigation into the NATO cross-border attack on Pakistan’s checkpoints. In a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Hina Rabbani Khar, he emphasized the inadmissibility of violating sovereignty of states, including when planning and conducting counterterrorism operations, says a Foreign Ministry statement.

Lavrov "expressed his understanding of the stance adopted by the Pakistani leadership." Pakistan’s minister reported on the response measures taken by Islamabad in connection with the incident, that sparked a wave of public indignation throughout the country.

The Russian Foreign Minister expressed his condolences in connection with the death of Pakistani servicemen in the attack.

It was reported that NATO helicopters on Saturday attacked a Pakistani checkpoint near the Pakistani-Afghan border. As a result, 24 servicemen of the Pakistani army were killed.

Well I am not supporting or against the blockage but there is a big question here, this blockage will only affect US to little extend. Their 70% supply already coming through NDN and even with this blockage NATO soldiers would be enjoying Beer in their bases in Afghanistan.

Also, if foreign expat like you from NATO or NATO supporting countries will donate money like this, then you people going to be in big problem.

The countries surrounding Afghanistan can end the war easily by jointly closing their borders to US. The US will essentially be forced to evacuate the country.

I think Turkey is also contributing to NDN. How come Turkey is a NATO member and talking double cross.

Because both Chinese and Russian don't want abrupt US withdrawal from Afghanistan instead don't want them to stay in Afghanistan after 2014. Because China, Russia, Iran though anti-American fear about Taliban takeover.

So the major important supplies comes from Pakistan (oil and military supplies). If you cut that, NATO's operation will be severly affected.

And China, Iran, and Russia dont want a US presence in the region. Russia sees Central Asia as its backyard, and Taliban never harmed Russian interests after Soviet defeat. Taliban never harmed Chinese interests either. China, Iran, Russia, and Pakistan see U.S. as a bigger threat than Taliban.

Buddy, where have you been these last few years, The Taliban has already taken over, they already control 70% of Afghanistan. I recall the then British Prime Minister asking an Afghan Minister how long it would take the Taliban to take over Kandahar after the ISAF leaves completely, expecting a reply of a few months and years to which the Minister replied "24 hours".........hahahaha WTF......

There is a direct rail line from Riga in Latvia to Mazar-e-Sharif all in Russian gauge, and I think rail lines are all weather rail lines. Anyway what a classic denial for not believing in your own newspaper.
