I would rather say, it is just a relaxing exercise for PA.. they have been up against some of the toughest terrorists in their home grounds and still they have won against them where the British empire failed miserably. Today, FATA has become a formally a normal part of Pakistan..
Summat that looks Chinese, smells Chinese is probably Chinese. Hindoo does not maketh India. If it did Sri Lankan Tamils, Napali's, Balinese would be Indians. As much as Muslim does not make Pakistan - if it did then Bosnia, Turkey, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan etc etc would be Pakisan.
Specifically Gurkha's are a Sino-Tibetan peoples and hail from a country called Nepal. so I fail to see how they are regarded as Indian. And Britain was the original employer of Nepali Gurkhas so by that measure Gurkhas could be regarded more British.
I actually read a book by British Army officer of the Brigade of Gurkhas that once when they were posted on guard duty outside Buckingham Palace many tourists would ask "Why are Japs guarding the Queen?". And you can see why they thought that. Gurkhas as a ethnic group share as much similarity with Gangoo's if not less then blonde Swedes do with Pakistani's. At least these are both Caucasians !
