Surprising to see this lady wearing a Sari as part of the uniform. Either way, she looked very elegant and Pakistanis should be proud that she is carrying their name across borders.

Sari is a formal dress. it is elegant
for ceremonies and office based duties it is more suitable. shalwar or trousers on the other end will be more suitable in the field duties

the fashion and clothes preferences evolve over the time.
there is nothing religious about it. there are always outside influences on our evolving fashions
although Sharwar/ pejama Kamiz has made inroads as a formal dress over the years

yes i agree, nothing wrong with it. dress has no boundaries. just in a new hollywood movie black panther, he is wearing a black and white shalwar qameez. big deal. sari is very much a pakistani as indian. not a big deal.

For F#$& Sake ... why is the entire military wearing colonial style uniforms with trousers and shirts ... they should all be wearing kurta pajamas or shalwar kameez. This is unacceptable.

Saree was the only uniform for women in all Military branches before modernization and combat roles.
its not exactly same like how Indians wear it, no belly showing or fancy thing. its a pants, short and then cloth warped like saree, idea was to cover the figure / shape etc.
