Pakistan Army daring rescue operation.

You can divert this flooded rivers water to other parts of the country using dams and canals..?
Why isn’t this possible..?

Drought, water shortages and floods , how can all this happen at once.
Not this gutter. The sawan “river” is a sewage dumping ground for these privileged societies. It is not cleaned, diverted or otherwise. Land erosion is rampant on its banks but the property dealers(civilian and military alike) keep selling and over burdening the land while destroying all greenery and forest in their way.

It is a dangerous water body as during the time I lived in one of these housing societies that border it; no less than ten people were swept away in shallow water that I knew of due to strong currents.

Yes, Brave aviators but stupid people looking for cheap fun, end up endangering more lives (in this case aviators and equipment)

No one is stupid to place their lives in danger on purpose and if some one gets stuck in a difficult place he should be helped. these people never knew that they will get in such a situation and it was a good effort by Pakistan Army to rescue them. Criticism is good but human life has more value.

flash floods mostly come from heavy rains in hills .

Agreed! Im not saying they shouldnt have been saved. All im saying is that its common sense to not go down into the Nullah. Ive lived in Pindi and everyone advises not to go down into the Nullah especially around Monsoons. It is good to care abt human life, its our duty as Muslims, but stupidity has to be condemned in order to raise awareness against it.

Pakistan Army on Wednesday rescued five people, including a woman and two girls, stranded near Sawan River near Rawalpindi, informed ISPR.

The army’s media wing said that all the evacuees have been shifted to a safer place. The rescue operation was conducted on helicopters.

“The individuals got stuck due to the sudden rise of water level,” the ISPR said.

On July1, Two British mountaineers stranded on Ultar Sar mountain located in Hunza Valley were rescued by the army personnel after an avalanche hit their tent.

The injured mountaineers were identified as Bruce Normand and Timothy Miller are en route Gilgit via an army helicopter, assistant commissioner Hunza said.

Later during the day, Director General Inter Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major-General Asif Ghafoor tweeted, "Pakistan Army pilots in a daring mission rescued three foreign mountaineers stuck in snow avalanche at above 19,000 feet on Ultar Sar Peak near Hunza."

"Bruce Normand and Timothy Miller from UK successfully rescued alive while Christian Huber from Austria had succumbed to avalanche," DG ISPR confirmed.

Efforts were under way since Saturday to rescue the two British mountaineers and bring back Huber's body after their tent was hit by an avalanche 5,900 metres up Ultar Sar mountain.

The localities you are blaming are the most beautiful and well planned localities of Pakistan. Why are you maligning these societies because of the foolishness of this family which entered river the wrong way ? I think you are showing your malice at the wrong place and moment.

Some anti Pakistan/ Anti army person has written these remarks. Must be kicked in his behind for trying to sow the seeds of mutiny in the nation.

Apparently a retired Lt. Colonel Irfan just happened to be in the area and was watching the stranded family from a bridge, he called the PAA for help who reached the site within 7 minutes.
