PSDP
The size of the FY18-19 PSDP has been estimated to be Rs1,650bn, of which Rs850bn has been allocated to the provinces, while Rs800bn has been allocated to the federal government.

According to the Budget Speech 18-19 document, "Additional resources of Rs230bn [in the PSDP] will be financed through autonomous organisations, public-private partnerships, and other means. Investments in the water, road infrastructure, electricity sectors and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will be protected."

Under the PSDP, Rs47bn has been allocated to the Higher Education Commission, Rs37bn for basic health and Rs10bn for the PM's Youth Programme.

Development expenditure outside the PSDP has been estimated at Rs180.2bn for FY18-19, which is 18.4pc higher than FY17-18 estimates.

Real pain is to see PSDP going down ,If we wanted to sustain growth PSDP has to be pushed up

good . we should buy S-400 to prevent any syria like strikes
When fairly large number of missiles are fired on a target it can't be defended. The best strategy is to get both defensive and offensive capabilities. Syria has SAMS but they cannot be considered modern meanwhile they don't have offensive capabilities.

20 % increase means nothing, in fact reduction. Dollar has already depreciated by by 20% from 100 to 119 during last financial year.

Real pain is that it is neither spent completely nor honestly and goes in to the pockets and coffers abroad.
I believe government shall give detail of last year PSDP spending and status of funded projects.

These are just allocations as per declared program. How much was spent and what quantity was diverted into other heads. Anyways I have no issues with Defence budget making public except few classified projects and I think there is nothing else to hide.

To counter AG we made private companies in Punjab. I believe Senate Committee does its job for all defence procurements.

Unjustified expenditure: Major irregularities surface in armed forces’ accounts

According to the Audit Report 2011 on accounts of defence services, irregularities occurred due to negligence, ineffective internal controls, embezzlement and misuse of authority by officers of the armed forces.

Around 330 contract agreements were concluded from 2008 to 2010 without following the procedure laid down in the Public Procurement Rules 2004, the auditors observed.
