Correction:

75 Mirage III are 2 Gen
82 Mirage V are 3 Gen
186 F-7P+PG are 3/3.5 Gen

Total - 343 2/3/3.5 Gen

Correction:

63-70 F-16 (Block 40 +Block 52 = 4/4.5 Gen
50 JF-17 (Block 1) = 4 Gen

Total = 113-120 4/4.5 Gen planes...

PAF Total = 456-463
IAF Total = 779

Though your fleet is almost 1.68 times more, problem with India is, it is also 4 times bigger than Pakistan area wise thus giving us the advantage.

The superiority: At present, the IAF is operating 34 fighter jet squadrons, as compared to the 26 operated by the PAF. However, the IAF needs to operate 39.5 squadrons to maintain its superiority over the PAF , due to a wide variety of issues like geographical disadvantage. The squadron strength of the IAF will drop to just 31 during the country’s 12th five year plan (2012-2017).

Correction- the SQD strength will drop for a period during 12th plan but this will be a very short period (12-24 months) and after this period the SQD strength will increase steeply with MKI, MMRCA, LCA (and later) PAK-FA/FGFA all being built and inducted simultaneously.

Then in the future, PAF will also increase theirs to induct more JF-17s, more F-16s, J-10, JFX....

Ho, I am not bothered about Pakistan Airforce. I am more bothered about PLAAF

Hey if PAF can afford to induct more such assets to match IAF- good for them.I personally don't think the PAF can afford to match the IAF in quality or quantity but that is only my personal POV and I could be wrong and if others want to beleive different I'm not going to argue.

.
useless thread we all know IAF was (in 1965,71) and will be atleast 3X superior to PAF

Mirage-3 is 2nd Generation (no BVR)
F-7P is 2nd Generation (no BVR)
F-7PG is 2.5 Generation (no BVR)
JF-17 Block-1 is 3.5 Generation (BVR)
F-16 is 4th Generation (BVR)

MiG-21 Bison is 2.5+ Generation (BVR)
Harrier is 3rd Generation (BVR)
Mirage-2000H is 4th Generation (BVR)
MiG-29B is 4th Generation (BVR)
Su-30MKI is 4.5 Generation (BVR)
MiG-29K is 4.5 Generation (BVR)

Mirage-5, MiG-27 & Jaguar are ground attack aircrafts. They don't even have Radars. Only a few Maritime Jaguars and Maritime Mirage-5 have Agave radars, which are ground attack radars, and not Air-Air radar. So it's immaterial if they are 2 or 3rd Generation, because they are useless in Air-Air combat.

As of now, only 18 F-16 Block 52 along with a handful of F-16 which has been converted to MLU standards are confirmed to be BVR capable. JF-17 will eventually have BVR but there is no confirmation yet on whether BVR missile testing is fully complete and has been fully integrated and given operational clearance. So only around 25 fighters in Pakistani Air Force Inventory is actually BVR capable as of TODAY.

Wrong, jf-17 is already BVR capable and SD-10 is in PAF service for over a year now, so is the ROSE series of Mirage III and Vs, approximately 80 have been upgraded with ROSE1 configuration, 40-50 with ROSE II and III though only ROSE 1 have Grifo M3 PD radar, search 120, track 60-70 km allows them BVR capability, rumoured to have been integrated with T-Darter BVR missile in limited numbers. Whole F-16 fleet is BVR capable, we have APG-66V enhanced radar in our BLK 15s since start, a radar that allows AIM 120 integration, 16 more that we received also have an upgraded APG-66V1, OCU version.

PAF confirmed BVR fleet as of now is...

jf-17= 40

F-16 blk 15+MLU = 42+3

F-16 blk 52+ = 18

ROSE 1 = 80

Total = 203...

Remember, this is the confirmed fleet as of today...

.
Please no rumors. I need some links for purchase of T-Darter intended for Mirage-3, and BVR integration and operational clearance for JF-17.

What do you mean since start? All F-16s became BVR capable only from 1992! I don't recall US performing modifications on the PAF F-16s to make it BVR capable during the sanction period. Whether it had the radar or not, it still needs had to have the required wiring and software to fire the missile. Have the wiring and Software upgrades completed on the Block 15?
"So basically all F-16s from Block 10 onwards are structurally AMRAAM-capable, although some A/B models lack both the wiring and the software, and although the C/D models have the wiring, some of them do not have the necessary software. The latter depends on whether the customer is subject to export restrictions or not."

@MIG21 NABIL gave you the answer now if you are looking for them to be paraded, we all know that PAF doesnt do that.
