Pak would have faced US, India after 9/11: Musharraf
Beijing, Sept 9 (PTI)

Pakistan would have faced the combined military might of the US and India if it had not allowed American troops on its territory to fight Taliban in Afghanistan after 9/11 terror attacks, former military ruler Pervez Musharraf has said.

"I do not regret at all. I think it was a very correct decision and if I am told for the same situation I will take the same decision," he told Chinese state run CCTV in an interview from his exile in Dubai.

While his decision was prompted by his conviction that Taliban and its thoughts were not conducive for Pakistan, he was also concerned about the prospects of US troops operating from India to attack Taliban in Afghanistan violating Pakistan's sovereignty.

"Certainly the US was going to attack Afghanistan that was clear. Where can they attack from? Through India and India was all set and ready to extend all kinds of facilities," Musharraf said.

"If they come from India and we are not with them and what happens. Pakistan then has to oppose the might of US and India together. Because they had to go through Pakistan if they have to reach Afghanistan and our sovereignty will be violated whether on land or air, from wherever.

Our sovereignty will be violated," the former military ruler said. "So quite clearly that was not in the interest of Pakistan at all and Pakistan could not face the threat of the force that would have violated our sovereignty or had been opposed to us," he said

As per musharaf's own account, a high profile US diplomat had warned Pakistan, "side with us or with the terrorists, if you side with them, we will bomb you to stone age", now what is the capability of Pakistan striking a nuclear attack on the US as many members here are so keen the nuclear option in here.

Let me Add one more thing, what have Pakistan received in cooperation Insults on International platform, labelled most dangerous country, terrorist nation, safe havens breeding grounds for terrorists, ISI defamed, Army defamed.
International Debt relieved? NO
Massive military equipment? NO only 18 F-16s
Please people do not bring in the Foreign Military Sales it was already available to Pakistan. Talk about what you get in return to offer your full fledged alliance, help and support, almost nothing!

all these wars have been fought away from their home territory , and war is not just about weapons , it also about knowing the geography , if pakistan would have said no to U.S , then u.s would have gone on an all out war with pakistan with the help of india , so it was next to impossible for pakistan

ok let' accept the scenario that u.s would attack pakistan then it has to attack bin laden and afghanistan or 4get about them what will they benefit from it when they destroy pakistan and taliban still in power. they needed how many months preparation to attack afghanistan with all the world helping them. to attack pakistan much more time needed and the risk of nuclear attack by any side is there i m not sure many countries would risk it but this coward commando ( dancer ) was tunn.

Wrong, US hasn't been able to go to War with N. Korea with the help of S. Koreans and Japanese at the time n. Korea had no alleged nuclear weapons. These are all B.S psychological warfare tactics by US and their goons in various local Pakistani political parties, one of their dog is musharraf.
