It doesnt matter. India and Pakistan has a lot of trust deficit and a lot of people in Pakistani establishment are extremely prejudiced against India. As there are in Indian establishment against Pakistan.

In this case, these folks wouldnt have accepted aid from India directly and some saner minds in Pakistan (who believe that every single dollar can help some one who is in dire straits) accepted this middle ground. It shouldnt matter from India's perspective. We wanted to help the Pakistani people in this hour of need. How that help reaches them should not matter as long as it does...

1.) That deficit is in the minds of PA/ISI and that will never be bridged as it will make them jobless. Or the propaganda they have created in minds of some pakistani people.

2.) Our establishment is not prejudice at all on the other hand they are generous and blind till the limit of foolishness.

Manmohan Singh have yesterday told that we should not wait for the pakistan to respond we are a big nation and we should go ahead doing our bit for them. This attitude of leaders is screwing our country. When you can't realize a problem how can you found a solution for it.

As for needy people i like to inform your highness that there are floods in India also and we need that money too. So give that money to needy people who will great full other then money goes down in drain and they will continue to call for war and Indian blood.

You are donating or looking for cheap political stunt. What is the problem if it goes through UN. Pakistan has legitimate reasons not to allow Indians in their land since law enforcements are deployed to take care the flood affected area. They need on less worry to look after Indians.

Guys... Dont use a natural disaster and its results (natural or man made) to get into Forum wars. There are thousand other areas and threads to do that.

If you find some Pakistani making bad/foul comments, dont use the aid plank to respond back. By doing this you are diminishing a humane gesture. There are better ways to respond to flaming posts and I know my Indian friends are fully capable of flames of their own.

My request to those who would consider it, is to leave the whole flood situation and Indian aid out of that. The human misery from these floods is just too big to be belittled by discussing it so flippantly..

The question is why should the Aid given by India be discrete and through 3rd parties ?

What are pakistan's so called Legitimate reasons ?

Pak Army thinks if people people see direct help from India then their constituency of India-haters will reduce, That's the only reaons why Pak Army does not want the pak govt to accept the Aid directly from Indian govt.

I Would say take or Leave it, Aid recepient should not dictate to Aid donor how the Aid has to be sent.

Any modality of aid... doesn't matter how it is routed is fine by me as long as it reaches the people it is meant for. Routing through the UN will improve the accountability in my opinion and there should not be any issues from the govt of India.
I am surprised it took the Pakistan govt. that long to accept the aid especially when the need of the hour was as urgent as it could be. India was among the first nations who offered aid. Hope this aid reaches the people who are in desperate need for it.

MMS is sitting on a wealth of TRILLION $$$ and hez very efficient & doesn't want to get criticized for throwing monies into the pockets of corrupt officials & politicians (read some politicians want the money so that they can do the donations themselves to improve their image)

At Pakistan's request, India has agreed to route the aid through UN. We have no problems
and just to add, there is really nothing to photo shoot in your country, seriously.

Because our neighbour's dog was barking that this money might be stolen by Zardari and this money will go into hands of militants. SO Its the best modality Pakistan came up to ask you to distributed aid through reputed UN aid agencies that will stop barking of our neighbour's dog about misuse of money.

any aid based on aim of point scoring and media coverage can never bring you good will. Get out of Kashmir and the entire Pakistan will send you flowers.
