As per sources PAF already placed an order FD-2000, heavily modified version range up to 250 KMS...AESA radar with capability to detect stealth fighters and engaging C.M up to 25 KMS.

Pakistan Army - AIR DEFENCE CORPS - Formation, Structure, Weapons
Pantsir is out of equation... Russians simply backed off from their contract due to some special reasons... A Chinese variant of Pantsir is now being considered. FD2000 is about to arrive though. is it confirmed? about both Pantsir and FD-2000?defence.pk
HQ-9 is a modified version of FD-2000, already with P.A. The interesting part is, PAF is getting further modified version of HQ-9 (FD-2000 previously) like a tailor made version for PAF.
Do we remember there was a news about Pakistan detecting USAF fighters above the sky of Arabian Sea? A lot of fun was made about PAF and detecting F-35 near or close to Pakistan Air Space but just pay attention to what he said.
Anchor Person is not wrong on most of accounts. He is directly referring to his sources and I don't see anyone with having such career with Media will ever risk like that and cause embarrassment through lies & made claims.
Yes that makes sense. But why would the PAF go for its own customised version of a system already inducted by the army? How would their roles be different?
That means Army and Air Force are going for same system. Good one but I am pretty sure we would also go a a system like SPADA. It seem Air Force is going to built its own three layered Air Defence system to protect its installations. As per sources PAF already placed an order FD-2000, heavily modified version range up to 250 KMS...AESA radar with capability to detect stealth fighters and engaging C.M up to 25 KMS.
