PAF shoot down IAF SU-30 MKI l News & Discussion

India placed an order for 12 mkis with Russia recently as replacement order. 11 crashes were counted, have I missed the 12th crash , or it shows something else, just a question?

It is possible that the MKI did survive, perhaps it was never hit. However, how does IAF and India justify their backing off and, as per rumors, the plan to resort to the use of SRBM's instead of taking on the PAF with all their hyped up Air Force? I mean this is a force which routinely claims its ability to fight a 2-front war and yet it flew in the other direction the moment PAF came calling.

If only IAF had escalated and taken on the PAF, I would have believed them. It is the fact they IAF ran away scared which points to a different situation, a story which PAF has amply explained. And so, my opinion is that IAF was outgunned and out-ECM'd by PAF. No wonder Modi fell back on Rafale in his next speech, about how the situation could have been different if only IAF had Rafale.

TANKS FOR THIS POST.

It actually doesn´t matter if it was 2 jets down or "just" one. FACT is that IAF ran away and didn´t had the guts to show up again.

Nope, no doubts that the Mig 21 was shot down and no doubts that Su 30 wasn't.
I agree its possible that su 30 wasnt shot down as it is still a claim..though not BS claim.i will start calling it a BS claim if russia does an official count or neutral third party does a count

A BS claim is like the earth is flat or that sat images that shows spice missed its target are not reliable because modi said so. Or that f16 was shot down despite a clear count from OEM.

MI-17 was shoot down by our own SAM by mistake (technical). Due to which we had to halt use of SAM against Pakistani fighters. Otherwise they won't return to PAF base safely. Even their Airforce knows this fact.

We don't need to beg anyone to get our POW, we are not cowards like you who can't even acknowledge dead of your soldiers in Ladakh.

Hard to believe

since they were so incompetent that they shot their own helo down.

Where is the official report of the "Official count" done on F 16s?

It doesnt matter if even no mig21 or mi17 went down.. This is irrelevant ..loses can happen..

What matters is PAF did open agression against india and IAF didnt had guts to answer an open agression ..presumably because of what it noticed..that aim 120s and sd 10 were outgunning the su30s while mirages were having technical glitches and migs were being jammwd (all these points are coming from indian sources published in print.in)

Unless you can prove other wise ..one kill is surely a fake.

Where did your boys get the Amraam piece from? can't be from the Mig 21 because
that landed on Pak side. Surely from the backside off the Su30.

U.S. count shows no Pakistan F-16s shot down in Indian battle: report

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Pakistan’s F-16 combat jets have all been accounted for, U.S.-based Foreign Policy magazine said, citing U.S. officials, contradicting an Indian air force assessment that it had shot down one of the jets in February.

India and Pakistan engaged in an aerial battle over the disputed region of Kashmir a day after Indian jets crossed over into Pakistan to attack a suspected camp of anti-India militants.

An Indian jet was brought down during the fight and its pilot captured when he ejected on the Pakistani side of the border. India said it, too, had shot down a Pakistani aircraft and the air force displayed pieces of a missile that it said had been fired by a Pakistani F-16 before it went down.

Foreign Policy said in a report published on Thursday two U.S. defence officials with direct knowledge of the matter said U.S. personnel had done a count of Pakistan’s F-16s and found none missing.

The F-16s are made by Lockheed Martin and, under an end-user agreement, the United States required the host country to allow for regular inspections to ensure they were accounted for and protected, Foreign Policy said.

Details of the India-Pakistan air engagement have not been fully provided by either side. If the U.S. report turns out to be true, it would be a further blow to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had said that India had taught Pakistan a lesson.

“Truth always prevails,” Pakistan’s army spokesman said in a Tweet. “Time for India to speak truth about false claims & actual losses on their side.”

“CONFIRMED SIGHTING”
The Indian Air Force reiterated on Friday that one of its MiG-21 planes had brought down an F-16 in the Nowshera sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

Two combat planes went down that day, one was an Indian and the other belonged to Pakistan air force (PAF) the IAF said in a statement.

“The Indian Force have confirmed sighting ejections at two different places on that day. The two sightings were at places separated by at least 8-10 km,” it said.

“One was an IAF Mig 21 Bison and the other a PAF aircraft. Electronic signatures gathered by us indicate that the PAF aircraft was an F-16,” the air force said.

Modi’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, heading into a tight election next week, is campaigning on a platform of tough national security, especially with regard to arch foe Pakistan. New Delhi blames Pakistan for stoking a 30-year revolt in Muslim-majority Kashmir but Islamabad denies any involvement.

The success of Indian air strikes on a camp of the Jaish-e-Mohammed militant group in northwestern Pakistan has also been thrown into doubt after satellite images showed little sign of damage.

High-resolution satellite images reviewed by Reuters last month showed that a religious school run by Jaish appeared to be still standing days after India said its warplanes had hit the Islamist group’s training camp on the site and killed a large number of militants.

Foreign Policy said Pakistan had invited U.S. officials to physically count the F-16 planes after the incident.

Some of the aircraft were not immediately available for inspection due to the conflict, so it took U.S. personnel several weeks to account for all of the jets, one of the officials was quoted as saying.

The count had now been completed and all aircraft “were present and accounted for”, the official was quoted as saying.

India has separately asked the United States for its view on whether the use of the F-16s by Pakistan was a violation of the end-user agreement.

if there was no Su 30 crash then why an indian military helicopter was air borne in the middle of an air combat? that helicopter was on search and rescue mission for the downed su 30 pilots.

Yes it did or please provide proof of your claims.

Proof?

> IAF backed down.

> India whined , about Su-30, USA, PAF,

> Pakistan celebrated

but all is not lost.. you can still party about your brand new scratched raffle draw planes which UAE rejected, like you did when Su-30s first arrived

Fake news..satellite images are fake as modi cant lie..abhi was also a fake as this kind of mustache isnt allowed in IAF

I know that this is a pretty old topic but I just don't understand the evidences. Yes the f-16s FCR did confirm the kill along with AWACS radar footage, but it is entirely possible that the flanker was hit but survived. Also, I remember that a user on the forum mentioned something of picture evidence? Like were the TGPs set to AA? Anyways I'd really like to get some info and clears the misconceptions. Thanks!

only the US , israeli and Russian know about the truth.

this area is one of the most monitored regions of the world for a variety of reasons.

a shot down Su-30 would certainly have been picked up them.

Here is the interesting bit.. PAF revealed the pilots and their interview infront of the entire diplomatic corps including their military attache's which included Russa and US.... about the shooting the Su-30 down.

Not a single one of them has disputed PAF's claim.
