All the noises coming out of Defense correspondants in New Delhi point to a earlier than anticipated annoucement of MMRCA decision.

The leader and winner is Rafale the reasons being quoted include

65m euro price tag v typhoon 95euros
Rafale F3 BEING offered coimng with RBE2 AESA radar
Rafale better than Typhoon in strike role and F3 will improve on air combat over Typhoon due to improvements in jamming suites and asa radar.
France deperate to win overseas order are guranteeing quicker delivery than Typhoon.

UP UNTIL now the seniors on the forum have refused to discuss the MMRCA answer due to no short list.

WELL NOW we know it will almost certainly be French fighter what should PAF response be

126 F16 /52 in ideal worl;d i wud guess with no strings attached and no threat of sanctions PAF wud have gone with this but last weeks USA raid has raised real long term suspicion on USA intentions..

option 2 THE FC20 - muted at 36 fighters with follow on orders. BUT recent AFM article cast doubt if this was stil happening recently no confirmation from offical sources have refuted the article as yet. IF it is does come are the chinease avionics and radar a match for RAFALE type technology. I SAY THIS AS PAF where very keen to intergrate mica bvr & rdy radar on THUNDER MK2.. THE rafale tech both rafar a metere bvr with MMRCA will be another generation ahead of this.

option 3 If Typhoon eventually defeated it is said to be the 2nd best air supremacy fighter in the world after F22.saudis have them and are an ally should PAF look to acquire the TYPHOON.

at this stage i do not see a 4th option all though somebody did mention MIG35 from russia. BUT this came bottom of the MMRCA competition.

This is not the right thread man. Put it in India's section. In fact, ask the mods to scrap the thread. I being an Indian am fed up of MRCA threads. When I first heard about this deal, I was in first year college. Now I have been working since three years and none of these jets have come. We're talking about 126-200 jets. Imagine if we have to buy 1,000+ in a go like US does some day.

How many planes do we need then?
and these are not the only air crafts, there are 272 mkis and another 20 FGFA (by 2020)
Also Mig-29 and Mirages,Jaguars,LCA are there..

PAF is simply replacing old fleets with news one. F-16/JF-17/FC-20

Negative Rafale can never take over Typhoon in A2A, What makes your think Typhoon's AESA would be inferior to rafale's future AESA both are yet to be developed and enter service in 2014/2015 and demonstrate. Similarly what makes you think Typhoons BAE Jammers electronics suites are or would be inferior. Looking at the marketing and Sales Typhoon already won the hearts.

By the way I noticed a stupidity in your post. Will Improve is better or Already Improved (Typoon), Typhoons demonstrated A2G over Libya.

beside this.their are rumours about single engine stealth fighter.we will acquire that to keep any indian fighter threat on bay not only rafale

102 millin dollars is a cheap rate for su30mki?
It deed its next most potent to F22 . The only lag is stealth. AESA radar soon to come.
