PAF and its Pilots Persistent Demoralising Impact on IAF

 Self flattery to a whole new level. I'm sure Abhinandan was cowering in fear when he followed an F16 in his antiquated 1960s mig into enemy territory, despite IAF being outnumbered 4:1 on the day. Meanwhile the brave Pakistani pilots in a dazzling display of bravery shot him down with BVR missiles at 80-100km distance.

actually he was so poorly trained that he crossed the border into Pakistan and was shot down. :yahoo::chilli:

Also are you saying that the mighty IAF was out gunned by a third world air force :pakistan:

Why did the mirage 2000 complain of their a2a radars and return back. Why did the mighty IAF not send their su31 MKI across the border, establish air superiority and surgically take back their downed pilot. :taz::police::pakistan:

seems like all the IAF pilots were scared shitless

A little too much sugar coating. There is enough threads for similar content. The CCS article is old, it is best to see content on what is available these days as TOP GUN has evolved so much more than what it used to be. FWS is far more comprehensive that should be used as a comparison and to check and see where the training standards are. The standards definitely improved due to the War on Terror operations and exposure to foreign air forces during exercises.
Ace is the new big thing and you already know about that, probably more than me...!!!

I believe the F-16s could see him on their own APG-68s too. His intentions were clear as you rightly pointed out. Cope India exercises used the same tactics since at least 2004, the MKIs hang back and the Bisons fly low and get close for the kill.
What really baffling is how PAF F-16s missed Abhinandan's Mig21 untill he was 10KM inside pakistan. He was doing high-g barrel roll back towards India side when he was hit by an AMRAAM missile. wreckage of Mig21 was found miles inside Pakistani territory.

ACE is excellent and if I use the closest correct term "open-architecture". It is similar to how the US Navy and Marine Corps have subordinate units like TOP GUN around USA (and my gosh, I would kill to be flying out of places like NAS Key West !!!! )

Rich coming from a nation where some people still think they won in 1971 and that they still hold most of Siachen glacier
You wouldn't have won in 1971 without the mukhti bahini.

You lost half of Kashmir in 1947 and you're talking about a glacier?
