Owaisi on Beef Ban

Do you know the actual meaning of the word secular? Not the meaning which is nowadays being represented in Indian Politics which we call as "Sickular"

Secular means someone who does politics without religion. Your two sentences are contradictory. He cant be a secular leader if he claims to be a Muslim Leader

However he is a "Sickular" leader who likes to promote the cause of Muslims over Hindus while claiming to be secular

Interpretation of Secularism by Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan ( the president of India and interpreter of Hinduism). Dr Radhakrishnan defined secularism as equal respect to all religions and never should be considered as irreligious

Dr Radhakrishnan argued that there is nothing called “irreligion”. Atheism is a quest for higher religion compatible with the increased knowledge. Secularism itself is a spiritual construct. He explains: “There is no state religion. All the different forms are given equal place, provided they do not lead to corrupt practices. Each one is at liberty to approach the unseen as it suits his capacity and inclination. If this is the basis of our secular state, to be secular is not to be religiously illiterate. It is to be deeply spiritual and not narrowly religious”.

The importance of religion as a social institution can be realised easily today. Our rivers were much safer and cleaner when they were worshipped as goddesses than by all the environment laws put together. The belief in humanity and common good can protect human beings better than draconian laws. It is this power of religion as a social institution

what are you saying??

ganga giver is polluted precisely because it has a religious element and which the religious people pollute through religious rituals.

Not all Indian muslims who believed in 2 nation theory left for Pakistan and remained in India. Some realized their mistake of believing in and supporting such ideology and alligned with the mainstream indians. While the remainings are cursed to live a life full of hatred and malice for their own nation. Imagine someone who hates his father and feels bad about carrying his genes and yet carries his family name. Such people could be a breeding ground for ISI but.... BUT I read somewhere in pakistani media that there are 35,000 pakistani muslim RAW agents in Pakistan on a payroll of RAW.

Those who think that muslims will ever revolt against their own nation, live in a fool's paradize. If we show our friendliness and brotherhood with the members of our Ummah, it should not be mistaken that we will act against our own nation. Whenever anyone has any confusion he should look at the example set by Param Veer Chakra winner Veer Abdul Hamid in 1965 war.

India has a mature and respectful democracy. Our politicians do shame us sometimes by talking rubbish but when it comes to upholding our constitution they all fall in line.

Reality is this that majority of Indians both Hindus and Muslims rejected the two nation theory and all use to think about the united struggle of 1770-1820 and 1857.

Ganga River is polluted because negligence but now there is lot of awareness among Indians.

"negligence" is not the right word... the pilgrims and the ritual doers who go to varanasi and ganga are very much aware of the river but they simply believed the river to be "self cleaning" through some supernatural powers and also ridding them of "past sins" without thinking about the pollution they were causing.

Hindu prayers involve the offering of natural items such as flowers and water or milk etc. These items cannot cause pollution if offered into a river. The polluting effect comes from the use of unnatural items such as plastic etc. I believe that is the "negligence" which the poster was alluding to

the half-burnt bodies cause half of the pollution... this is a river and not a deep sea where fish can take care of things.

and there is such a waste of food items like milk.

so what's his Hindu equivalent in Pakistan ? :D
They are systematically killing or converting the Hindus, where is the need for any leaders. Maybe bigger crematoriums.

wouldn't worry about that

beef ban = lots of extra milk :partay:

I think we all know how it would have ended if India ever supported a "hindu" insurgency in Pakistan.

even so, it is a huge waste... milk saved is milk prices lowered and pure milk available instead of that most-things-removed "toned milk".

The half-burnt bodies maybe a problem since they were supposed to be properly cremated before the ashes are disposed off. Guess the problem is really Hindus performing their rituals in a half- hearted manner.

Wastage occurs in all religions if you wanna go there. There is a wastage of funds by people who spend thousands to go on pilgrimage just to perform rituals at a certain spot. Unto each his own, so let's not go there

no doubt.

no, we must stream-line them and make them efficient.

You can't exist in life stressing about wastage. Religion serves a purpose in most believers' lives. If they want to "waste money" by offering milk or undertaking expensive journeys on pilgrimage then let it be

1. as the nepal earthquake showed, prayer houses of hindus, muslims, buddhists and christians were demolished by nature disregarding how many millions of prayers and rituals were done by the faithful at those structures.

2. when there are people in india dying of hunger, it is senseless to waste food items in religious rituals -- ( Death, hunger stalk Indian tea-estate workers )... did you know that there are 500,000+ temples in india?? imagine the wastage of milk, curds and other foods.

3. can you name one non-sensible average-minded person who gained materially or intellectually just because of a pilgrimage?? some muslims who mistook the hajj for a supernatural event died in fire in the tent city for the hajis and some were infected by the mers virus... every year, dozens of hindus die in stampede near well-known temples, right at the door-step.

life and societies should be clean and harmonious.
