If itā€™s true, then they must not resign. Instead they should stand up for the institution and country .

Can they do that, legally? I'm not educated in the institutional norms of the military.

@RescueRanger @Jango part where even his juniors were promoted earlier..
Good program on Asim.. Unlike Mushi, he is not addressing dishearted juniors (after Kargil). He is trying to control using the patriarchy.
both Kiramat and Kiyani were called Baji as they were not macho.. but learned and civilised people.
One more take on feudal mindset.. KPK vs Punjab police

When these events are looked back upon in their totality. One key element, among others, has to be remembered.

Not a peep from the PDM PM or his cabinet, while his media channels try to redirect their focus on things like cricket.

The following are tweets from their very own media. Read all the names in the following text

I hope the cricket team does a symbolic protest to shame people trying to distract the people, at a live event. Things can be learned from studying other protesting athletes. But must be something visible and easily understood domestically and internationally; to shame the thief of democracy and the lies told to gaslight the public. And not something like the kneeling that can be misinterpreted or linked to other movement but universal.

I am not commenting on the situation because it's very personal for you guys.

But this cricket post is important, to make a point across the world maybe Pakistani cricket can show solidarity kinda like the Iranian soccer team, that helps spread the message at the world stage.

Just an observation fwiw.

Good luck to you all.
Thanks

COAS is the CEO of the military imagine CCs as C suite officers in a corporate company all reporting to the CEO. Of course where this structure differs is the Joint Chief of Staff and its Chairman who is the defacto commander in chief, although in an advisory role has no control over ā€œoperationalā€ matters.

Sahir Shamshad is the only non-Punjabi in the mix, will be sidelined in no time, has no ethnic base to fall back on. Good thing he's staying out of it.

Defense of East lies in the West ........ a 1971 military slogan ..and .....

I just don't understand what they are expecting to achieve by arresting anyone that opposes them. It's bizarre. The Sharifs have gone full retard.
Its an age old tactic going back thousands of years. Usually done as a last ditch resort, short of assassination, when your other options have been exhausted. The idea is to kill/suppress the figures and with time, its followers give up hope and the movement is curtailed. It works sometimes, depending on how effectively you can suppress the resultant public anger. Sports and entertainment is a great tool for distraction & suppression, for example the historic 7-game T20I series held in Pakistan with England (first time hosting England in 15+ years), shortly after IK was deposed. These tools are effective sedatives.

With this in view, it is also possible that the other generals, resigning or forced to do so, were in agreement with the arrest but in disagreement with the suppression following the event.
Bro.. the problem is not that.. They select COAS, bureaucrats, and judges of the same traits. An ongoing officer perhaps gives away the list of his aides to NS etc. So, he elects the same breed.
You have to consider why Aamir Riaz wasn't selected despite his credentials and popularity. That low-life bajwa was selected on what basis? He must have a tainted history that suited NS.

So, the corrupt NS is a hiring manager for corrupt army officers, judges, and bureaucrats for the US, or he will lose money/assets.
A good way to look at is:
If your a corrupt leader, ideally, you'd want corrupt ministers/generals because if they turn against you, you can bring them down by citing their corruption, ill-actions, or other illegal cases they may have dirtied their hands in. That way, it is easier to get rid of them, instead of if you had selected a general on merit whose hands are totally clean. Blackmail is the correct word.
Imran Khan is still in the armyā€™s control. They just released some pressure from the pressure cooker by moving him next door to a jail guest house and letting him see some people.
They moved him from the dungeon to house arrest. If the public is calmed down by this move, then they are short-sighted and naive, playing right into the hands of the army.
