I think IK's biggest mistake was granting an extension.. Not because bajwa got an extra tenure but because we didn't get a competitive COAS. Everyone in the army was hoping Aamir Riaz will be the COAS, but NS appointed traitor Bajwa. NS appointed Raheel Sharif instead of Haroon Aslam. Perhaps, RS didn't do as much corruption (owns acres near ring road) but perhaps that SSG Haroon would have been better.
Perhaps, IK wd have picked a wrong one, but we need a patriotic and learned COAS. Bajwa brought up crooks like Aamer, Nadeem, Faisal etc,.. So, we don't need an a88hole to attract more a88holes..
