And the fanbois and other well wishers of the company are very proud of this relationship with US.

The generals have always put their tiny personal interests above everything else including Pakistan. These generals are loved by the Americans because it is a corrupt and disloyal institution willing to serve at all cost. This is really bad news for Pakistan and Pakistanis. The current crop of generals are compromised. This fight has to go on until true democracy wins.

Not taking the side of the military here, but the biggest benefactors of a weakened Pakistan Army are Pakistan's external enemies, imho, which begs the question if there is an external hand in the current situation. Arab Spring comes to light in the current scenario which destabilized several countries in a single, short event and obliterated the social fabric of atleast a couple; it was literally a dream come true for CIA & Mossad.

It seems like Pakistan Army uses the above excuse to defend its kleptocratic practices, treading a fine line between national security responsibility and social uprising against itself, in order to maintain the status quo. Here, unfortunately, the Army seems to have lost the balance; turned the civilian population against itself, creating internal divisions which puts it in a serious risk of unable to defend against external threats.

Take for example the scenario that if the Army loses it's current control system right now and simultaneously India were to attack. PTI and its citizens aren't in the position nor responsible for defending the country physically, while the army has been weakened, divided, in a state of low morale, and facing internal resistance from civilians. And with news like these that armed civilians will attack military installations, pretty much benefits nobody more than the external enemy. Divide & conquer comes to mind again.

Interestingly, I think the Army may attempt to "manufacture" a foreign threat scenario in order to regain the confidence and support of citizens (which may turn out against PTI). But this just a wild estimate.

Hopefully, both PTI and Army are aware of these consequences and take them into serious consideration in whatever maneuvers they have planned to execute.

Lol! anything whether manufactured or not, that company does will backfire now!

case in point is just as the whole country was locked by the company for 3 days. They were being killed in Balochistan. Nobody gave a fd about it.

This is why I said a few pages back the Pak Military lost in the Information Age. They can't expect to say something, and people will not do their homework and blindly follow.

@RescueRanger
Sir, sadly many people in Pakistan are still stuck in the dark ages when it comes to IoT, this is not just limited to the Army. Back in 2004 when I was working on civil resilience uplift program funded by the German Government (What would one day become Rescue 1122) I developed a simple email chain system that would enable field officers to send short sharp updates using a pre-formatted template email saving bandwidth, time and unnecessarily clogging phone networks during rescue and recovery operations - a grade 20 officer, himself a MSc holder in Media and communications laughed me out of the room saying, yeh email shemail ka time kis ke pas hain?

Ap asey mazak na karo to betir hain, avein waste kar dia time humera
... And then proceeded to spend the next 15 mins talking about his Orange Grove with some functionary whilst sipping tea. (These are the decision makers in Pakistan)... :D

Even in 2005 we set up SMS alert service after the earthquake with the help of Pakistan Red Crescent and Telenor Pakistan that helped service 200,000 people across Pakistan linking aid workers, service users, volunteers and donors. These people are simple in the head! You cannot change stupid!

Well this is a wake up call for them. They kept mocking PTI and its followers as "Disco Burgers"... Well these burgers bite back:

If there is no doubt that external parties will benefit, how can you say with such certainty that no external hand was involved?
Btw, I am speaking of the anti-army sentiment that precedes the current crisis which has reached its apex now, not the arresting of Imran Khan. I don't see how the generals can benefit by fomenting such a serious uprising against themselves (if that's what you were implying).
To have a strategy you need a brain and when all you think about is how to maximize corruption , brain stops working.

These guys don’t have any strategy and sooner sane minds in army realize it better it will be for the country. They have to make a stand instead of resigning. Someone needs to advise them that by resigning they are acting like cowards.

Resigning = surrender

Truly heartbreaking what could eventually make their jobs more manageable and give them the recognition they sideline.

We have a lazy mentality and work ethic in Pakistan. But most impotently, no proper mechanism in place to monitor performance. We fail to learn time = money in the public and private world.
