Now we see the worlds only super power humiliated in Afghanistan after decades, the world best armed forces, trillions of dollars, 3 US presidents and different policies nothing has happened except the AFG government controlling Kabul and Kabul alone.

It could be made possible through Good governance by Investing in People's lives to win their confidence and Trust in the far northern Parts of Pakistan and developing higher living standards in education and infrastructure.
Example.
Chitral under raees rule the badakshan province used to be under our control(My family),subsequent wars which weakened the power of this princely state disintegrated it from Chitral prior to independence in 1947(Late 1600s).

Rich in minerals ,Zero to no Taliban presence, Tolerant people and could be integrated into Pakistan easily since it has the highest literacy rates per province .
Hell if we can make a Good example of FATA , the people of Afghanistan can be pulled into confidence.
Very sadly this is just a dream at best,No such leader's will ever rise to Power in Pakistan.

If the people of Afghanistan decide on partition, let them have it. But I think the current war is caused more by the debauchery and corruption of the Northern Alliance govt that has been foisted on Afghanistan by the Americans. This is the main reason that gives legitimacy to the Taliban.

Prosecute these corrupt people, and the Taliban will melt away.

It is a nice thought, but the one thing that is true is that few mergers of countries have ever succeeded in modern times. Partitions have succeeded, but mergers have always failed. It is better to remain separate but maintain close relations.

Not really.
Bismark who united various Germanic states into one,I don't see that Germany is today a failed state.
Pakistan and Afghanistan are actually one countries ,almost a synonym abroad plagued by terrorism (In fighting) corruption and instability.
The regular Afghan's which I met are amazing people apart from the Pak-afghan elites,extremely resilient (Just like Pakistanis) highly spirited and noble folks.
All our current day popular journalists like Najam sethi etc actually studied in Afghanistan back in the 60s, So It wasn't all that bad prior to the soviets.
It is the proxies which destroyed Afghanistan and it's effect will be constant in case of Pakistan.
We need to soften our western borders and a long term policy needs to be initiated,Trust me Pakistan already needs more land mass since we already have the 5th biggest population of the planet.
