What's new

One terrorist killed, two soldiers martyred in Waziristan operation: ISPR

One patrol vehicle, one drone.
is that what you are suggesting ?

Have a look at boundary of North and South Waziristan area, check the area to be covered. Calculate patrols to be sent and drones over looking them.

So you want to know, how exactly... hmm.

Well short answer to your question is largely Yes, but if patrol can be done with drone only than it's best.
If it's about moving soldiers from point A to B, and armed drone patrol is not available, than i would split them in 2 vehicles, with one KM distance apart, and hand them each a short range drone, both over looking each other and surroundings. This way, they have advantage of early warning, and when comes under attack, are able to compliment each other and able to communicate back to the base for reinforcements, which of course should respond instantly with armed drone, preferably burraq, in case project has not been frozen by the new leadership.
At least this way soldiers will have a fighting chance and this is just one small improvisation out many that can be applied to track, trap and hunt the perpetrators.

In given circumstances, the team on patrol should not trust the establishment, any one could be traitor doing a holy service, to numerous Mubarik Hussein Patel types spread around Pakistan, in any form shape and rank.

If i go little back, Ajit Devil was doing his doctorate thesis on grave worshipers in Lahore, Pakistan, and after a decade we have a grave worshiping PM, who's first preached divide in the country, than appointed dubious advisors, than went after a constitutional change in army act, with unequivocal support of Asfi Ali Zardari !!!!!!!!!! just stating facts!

Back to the subject matter.... Pakistan has been loosing soldiers to the ambushes and IED from more than a decade.... clearly we haven't adopted to this reality and neither ponder upon it in logical way, hence failed to identify the true enemy. For a logical thinking officer, one IED attack and one ambush is enough to understand who is the enemy.
In case of IED, if any one believe it's a product of rag tags, than he lacks right education, to say the least.
In case of ambush, if anyone believe rag tags are just lucky bastards, than this country is truly blessed.

Last but not least, the perpetrators who mostly are identified as mercenaries... how exactly they profit by keeping army engaged and in disarray.
While when there was a time to walk over Indian army, some one at higher up decided to walk away.
