Its actually a drama to portrait himself as a patriotic person!! He'll be playing from 27th Feb, the deal already said that he'll be available to play only the semi and the final if Dhaka qualifies which won't clash with his internation commitments!!

Nevertheless, I'm a big fan of Afridi and glad that my home division Dhaka bought him!!

Afridi will play in BPL: Gladiators

KARACHI: Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi will feature in the inaugural Bangladesh Premier League if his team — Dhaka Gladiators — managed to reach the semifinals of the spectacle pencilled in for February 9-29.

The Gladiators, who bought Afridi for US$700,000 on Thursday, announced on Friday that the flamboyant allrounder will only be available for the final BPL games on February 28 and 29 because of national duty.

“It has been observed that there is confusion with Dhaka Gladiator’s foreign cricketer, Shahid Afridi’s availability for the first edition of Bangladesh Premier League,” the Gladiators announced in a media release on Friday.

“This is to inform all that it has always been mentioned by the BPL Governing Body that Afridi will be only available on February 28 and 29 and the Dhaka franchise was well aware of the situation.

“The former Pakistan skipper not being available for BPL 2012 is only a rumour as both Afridi and his agent have confirmed about his presence for Dhaka Gladiators on the mentioned dates,” said the statement.

Afridi and other leading Pakistani players will be busy in their limited-overs series against England next month. The series which will include four One-day Internationals and three twenty20 games will conclude on February 27.
