Possibly a stunt by Hasina to impress people at home. Obama is struggling for his political life with the elections knocking on the door. No, he can't afford a picnic to BD at this time.

Election is still more than two year away .

Usually, our shameless politicians would make an informal request to visit Bangladesh, and an US President would make a positive diplomatic answer. This statement is then used by the BD politicians and newsmen to state that the US President has agreed to visit.

A formal request and a fine-tuned procedure are required before arranging a State visit of an US President. BD has not done so. Our SH only said please visit, and he said politely, thank you, yes I will. That's all. This news is not that substantive.
