Nuclear exchange 'most likely' between Pakistan, India: NYT

You are correct, except that the point of them is to not use them. If there was a full-scale war, like I see some on both sides hoping for, the only thing "equal" will be the destruction of population centers in both countries.
The whole point of nukes is prevention. MAD doctrine. In that sense they are working. If there had been no nukes given India's overwhelming advantage in numbers she would have attacked Pakistan in a all out war along the entire border. This did not happen. Instead fencing between both sides took place. Of course there is always the danger things could go out of control. But that risk existed in the Cold War. Read Cuban crisis.

The threat of exchange still exists in Europe.
Nominal to much reduced. We were fed regular diet of BBC public relays about what to do in event of nuke war - hide in basement. Not joking here.

But the Americans/Russians do not hate each other
Because you very rarely engaged or interfaced with each other. There was physical distance and pre 1990s there was no internet or scope of regular contact with each other. Much of the contact was limited to officials.

Today with advent of internet and mediums like PDF enable that hatred to be manifested. In addition both countries have huge youth population full of testesterone with little way of diffusing that energy. In the west chasing girls, drink, sport helps to release that pent up energy.

But the hatred between American/Russian ruling elites was as strong and evident. More real and potent then the South Asian masses. Look at the treasure and effort expanded to outdo each other.

Suddenly American and her Media are becoming worried of Kashmiries, China silent on the issue, one can sense what are Americans looking in Kashmir, An independent pro Western American KASHMIR, very sooooooooooon you will see thousands of kashmiries living in UK chanting for freedom and USA, UK hinting their support in UN, what is needed is a China , Russia India, Pakistan ,Iran, Turkey block to keep one and only evil of this universe at bay,and peace will prevail ,

China was instrumental in the de-escalation, as was the US.

The US isn't the bad guy in every situation. Claiming that it is in such absurd situations, reduces credibility when claiming so in situations where they are possibly undermining your interests.

Its golden time to raise Kashmir issue and bring it to an end.
If Pakistan plays it's diplomatic cards right, it could leverage the situation to it's advantage and wrest the initiative from the Indians. Regardless of the geopolitical games the big powers play, one thing they don't want is a nuclear exchange between anyone, anywhere.
If they can be convinced that Kashmir is going to lead to a nuclear war, and I think Modi has inadvertently done half the job for us, they will impose themselves into the argument regardless of whether India wants it or not.

Are you on drugs or escaped from some mental facility?

We are ready to sacrifice our lives for the next generation .. Like japan.. Problem is monkeys owning a unlocked ak-47, and who knows when and where these scums would hit us first just for gaining popularity in elections

There is no "next-generation" after a full-exchange.

THe truth is this recent event has gone badly for India. The law of unintended consequences really unleashed itself. By starting this whole affair the world became suddenly aware of the real possibilty of a nuclear holocaust that would impact way beyond South Asia. 200 odd nukes exploding would give mother earth some headache.

This will and has woken up and highlighted to the world the Kashmir issue and it's very potential of causing nuclear war. The NYT article picks up on this and the need for Kashmir issue to be resolved because as long as that issue simmers the threat to the world is real. In that sense the Adel Dar the young Kashmiri who launched the Pulwama attack was thanks to Modi spectacularly successful in highlighting Kashmir and the need to resolve it.

So what your saying is -

  • the Kashmiri's are not being raped and murdered by a half million Indian occupying force
  • the Kashmiri's are integral part of India
  • that the Kashmiri struggle is just propaganda
  • that the real threat to Pakistan is not India but USA
  • that India is not the evil but USA is. Modi is angel but Trump is a monster.

You go smoke more of whatever intoxicant your on ....

Lol at,nuclear war.
Mutually assured destruction,,,bak bak is easy,,,but yeh sab karne ke liye jo chahiye wo subcontinent me milta nahi.
Let alone MAD,,,,if ppl of the region even had half the guts n some self respect ,they wud have already sorted out kashmir,,more importantly they wud not have been relentlessly invaded n humiliated by foreigners or repeatedly ruled by thm for milleniums.
Yeh nooklia waaa ka churan koi nahi kharidne wala,,,lol:,,@@nd me dum nahi par hum kisi se kum nahi.lolz
