Now you can observe the consolidation of the various Kurdish forces. It seems after a long period of inner squabbles this is the most suitable moment for creation of a Greater Kurdistan! Long cherished dream of all Kurds may come true at last! Or it can be ruined.... maybe for ever.... if some outer forces will hamper the natural process of the Kurdish unification.
Who in the position now to manipulate the process? They are Turkey, USA, Israel imo. These countries see Kurds as a nice tool to boost their role in the region!
Well, Turkey claims to get closer to Kurds but in real life Ankara has always been our sworn foe! Now when there's evident drive of the Turkish and Syrian Kurds to get united Turkey becomes more and more ardent supporter of the Islamic radical elements here in Syria! If they manage to seize power in this country we'll see just chaos and real threat to mere existence of Kurds in here!!
Well, Americans helped Iraqi Kurds to get full-fledged autonomy status in Iraq. Now we can see Americans getting access to natural resources of the Kurdish territories in Iraq and Israeli Mossad using its links with the Iraqi Kurds as sort of operative base for unfriendly missions against Iran and this country, Syria!
I tend to think the outer interested forces are making Kurds just puppets! That's it! And they'll allow only a tame Kurdish state to emerge.... if any!

Entire community on the premise of ethnicity cannot get united so as the Kurdish community. Iraqi & Syrian Kurds are predominantly Sunnite, many Turkish Kurds are Alevi and quite significant numbers of Kurds in Iran are converted to Shiet belief. Then there are Islamic, secular and socialist/communist divide in the Kurdish community and it is usually found in every society.

Coming to the point of the formation of sovereign Kurdish state in the heart of Middle East, US, Israel and other western power are doing their best to form a independent Kurdish state in the region that will serve their purpose for at least 3 decades to come.

My bet is that Kurdish region which is presently divided in four regional countries viz Turkey, Syria,Iran & Iraq will get united geographically and will form a federal autonomous body under the one regional power in the coming 5 to 15 years. In my opinion that regional power, who would hold Kurdish region under the umbrella will be none other than Turkey.

The whole exercise in Iraq, Syria and Turkey is going on, in this direction only but the biggest stumbling block to achieve this goal is US-Israel on the one side and Iran- Russia on the other side.

Neither US and its allies Nor Iran-Russia and its allies would like a powerful regional authority who can dominate the events in the region but the process of integration and disintegration is going on since the first gulf war.

It is still to be seen that tide will shift on which direction as Kurdish support is vital for Turkish neo-ottomans to resurrect its old glory of Ottoman Empire.

Suffice to say that Middle East again is in the dire need of strong regional power to revolve around and to thwart the foreign intervention.
