What's new

Now, China makes incursion in Uttarakhand

Hostile towards China, Hostile towards Pakistan, hostile to bangladesh, Hostile to Lanka - North, South, East and West -- and confident that it can take on all - interesting.

Isnt India's relationship with Nepal and Srilanka far better than Pakistan's relations with Afghanistan and Iran ? :)

. .
Like I said, this is a prickly India - it seems to have a problem simply looking at the dimension of the problem - now you can imagine that you have the strength of the US as your own - reality suggests that such problems cannot go on and on and a solution requires diplomacy and circumspection.

Really expected a lot more from you Muse. You were quite better earlier.

How come I don't see you providing the same advice for your own country men when the PA tries to provoke IA with ceasefire violations. Lot of Pakistanis' seem to be cheering Chinese. These brain laden people say that China has a legitimate claim over all the lands where she is supposedly intruding. In this same forum, I got a bit of news, that prior to 1960s, Pakistan premier offered a military agreement with India, to counter the enemy up north. No prizes for guessing who the enemy is. After 1962, Enemy's enemy became friends and here we see pattings and slappings on the back from Pakistan. Oh crud... Think the drug's wearing off.. I am speaking too much sense..

.
Really...you can compare the Chinese military with the American one?

Hint: The difference is a lot lot lot more than the difference between China and India.

USA is not facing challenge from China on Military front alone, the degenerating US economy and rising hatred for in the world directly contribute to the strength of China against USA. And it also stays a fact that USA has lost all the wars it fought away from its borders and war with China is only going to be lot lot lot more difficult than any other battle USA fought and lost. China is not Afghanistan or Iraq and when USA is on the verge of loosing its battle against Taliban, what grounds it has to think China could be defeated?

If USA could have defeated China militarily, it would have done this decades ago. It is looking for China to be half-dead with war with India first and only then USA has chance against it. USA will not undergo any war or conflict where it fears retaliation. Why do you think Iran hasn't been targeted yet although it is a greater threat to American puppy than Iraq or Afghanistan ever were?

The only road of success against China passes through India but it would result in India destroyed completely and China destroyed considerably if not fully. I dont think Indians are stupid enough to act as Suicide Bomber just because USA is patting their back for that.

Yes I do agree with whatever you said...
But you should also realize the other part of the story of Pakistan going on war with India with the backing of China. Somewhere down the line story is same..... The only diffrence being China and Pakistan have been long term partners and India and America just started building their relations.

Regarding your relations with Nepal and Srilanka, these are your relations and you know them better than we do. But we know how our relationships are with Iran and Afghanistan better than you imagine. Iran is our brother country and we are undergoing several agreements with them. Iran has never been hostile state to us neither we agreed to be an Ally against Iran when USA was so desperate for that. We are signing billions of dollar gas-pipeline with them and transit trade agreements have been signed. How can you even imagine Iran been any hostile nation for us? Regarding Afghanistan, if you think Afghanistan means 24 Indian consulates then you need to read the history again. We have fought wars with Afghan brothers, hands in hands and standing shoulder to shoulder. Taliban who are still the most powerful factor in Afghanistan are Anti-America, Anti-India but Pakistan Friendly. If you talk of Taliban in Afghanistan, they are more sincere and willing to join our wars than Myanmar and Nepalis are to you.

Just because you urge to prove India better in every situation, you are making ridiculous assumptions sitting on your computer chair. You better spend some time researching and finding facts on ground and accepting that India couldn't always be better then the rest.

Chinese troops near Uttarakhand are commonplace

Senior Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) officers have denied reports of a Chinese incursion into India across the border with Uttarakhand, but ‘exchanges’ between the two countries in parts of the 350-km-long boundary the state shares with China has been a ‘common practice’ for years.

ITBP Deputy Inspector General Sanjay Singhal said on Sunday there has been no Chinese incursion in the recent past.

But senior police officers and Chamoli district locals say ‘exchanges’ do take place between troops from both countries around this time of the year. The border areas of Chamoli district are about 400 km northeast of Dehradun.

“Every year around August-September some Chinese activity is seen near the border,” Uttarakhand DGP Subhash Joshi told Hindustan Times.

He said Chinese troops come on horses to the uninhabited areas and leave behind some products on the Chinese side to mark territory. Similar activity is also witnessed on the Indian side with soldiers throwing Indian products in areas close to the border.:woot::tongue:

Times Now channel reported on Sunday that some Chinese troops had entered the Rimkhim area in Chamoli district on September 5 and left behind China-made biscuits and cigarettes.

Joshi, however, denied any such incident having taken place.

“The Chinese generally stay for around an hour and leave. They do so to make their presence felt. Whenever such activity is noted, personnel from the ITBP post nearby inform us and we keep a proper record. But we don’t have any intimation of any recent activity in the area.”

Senior journalist Kranti Bhatt, who has travelled to the border areas over the past five years, said there have been nine instances of Chinese troops reaching areas near the border.

“Senior ITBP officials and local shepherds say Chinese Army personnel have been seen visiting areas close to the border six times since 2004. But they have never tried to enter...and the alertness of Indian security personnel has ensured that they left quietly. Security personnel see this as usual activity,” Bhatt said.

At last month’s meeting on internal security in Delhi, Uttarakhand CM Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had sought a Hill Security Force on the pattern of coast guards to protect the border in the state

Note: I already said this in another post but it is also relevant here.

I have to say! The Indian News Sources are saying this stuff so frequently, it is beginning to look like a sad joke. Because,

Only one of the following can be true:

1) The IA is not strong enough or vigilant enough to stop this whenever I choose I'll come knock at your door and pay a visit by the Chinese

OR

2) The Indian News Sources are just trying to achieve a poorly organized and ill planned propaganda against the Chinese Because I dont think this makes India look strong

================================

In the end, I am afraid, either way, this is going bad for India's Image. India is being made to look weak. Is the Indian Army so weak? or are the News Sources not doing their job properly??

:undecided:

May be you can give the same suggestion to your govt first. (Hint- east: India, north: Afganisthan, west: Iran, Thank god you don't have anyone in the south. Not to mention the inner provincial conflicts). I am assuming Pakistanis does not need any special training to understand your illuminating insight.

Just because you can spell North, East, West and South, countries locating in these directions not necessarily become enemies of Pakistan. And to enlighten you with some geographical facts, in the North, its China, in East, its India, in West we have two nations, Afghanistan and also Iran and on the south its Arabian Sea.

Coming towards enemies of Pakistan in 4 corners, then my friend Iran and Pakistan are brotherly nations who never had any time of high-tension ever. Our economic and military cooperation is consistently gaining grounds and we are signing Billions of Dollars of Agreements with them. We have trade and transit trade agreements with Iran and because of that we have established railway link up to Europe. So get out of your hallucinations for Iran at first.

Regarding Afghanistan, who doesn't know Pakistan took part actively in the battle against USSR and fought with our Afghan brothers like no other nation on earth. Our cultural and Military connections are far deeper and than India, USA or NATO can imagine. Whenever USA/NATO needs to negotiate with Taliban, we are always the facilitator. And dont forget that Taliban are the strongest factor in Afghanistan, even more stronger than combined NATO/US forces.

In the North, its China. Need I put some light on our relations with China?

The only enemy of ours is in the East, our long rival India. Even the temporarily disturbance on Western border is result miscreants and foreign-funded militants and most part of them has been handled already.

So get out of your day-dreaming but you can continue to believe Pakistan surrounded with enemies if this makes you comfortable in the washroom.

I agree 100% to the bold part of your post. BTW, I was only responding to your arrogant tone in the earlier post. Otherwise, I do have a great respect for your most thoughtfull and soul stirring posts elsewhere.

As for India's foreign policies, I would not like to comment on the past. But I do believe, presently, we are doing great and moving towards the right direction. Relationship with BD, Srilanka is improving. We already have great relationship with Burma in our east. Heck, I foresee a much improved relationship with Pakistan too in the near future (Guys please don't bring Kashmir into the discussion, we have plenty of other threads for that).

Also, I think you are wrong to presume that India think of US as the same as Pakistanis think of China. Apart from Indian some dumb asss here, no one in India considers US as a great ally. We are just partners who are trying to gain maximum benefit from each other, for different reasons of course. We are bright enough to learn from the history that US is incapable of being a dedicated ally to anyone but themselves.

@ Graphican: No need for explaining the reasons for your sour relationship with your neighbours. Like muse said above "problems cannot go on and on and a solution requires diplomacy and circumspection" So less hate mongering & war crying (AKA Taliban symphathising) and more circumspection and diplomacy will do the trick.
