'Northeast Indian rebels back in Bangladesh'

Good luck with supporting our rebels.. Its clear that people haven't learn from whats happening to countries who considered fanatics as "strategic assets" .. Not to worry.. You will be in that learning curve soon

India cannot even stop rebellion. It has Maobadis spreading very near to Delhi, Kashmiri Mujahids, IM and numerous rebel groups in the NE. India should try to extinguish fire inside its country by making arrangements with those dissatisfied with Delhi instead of talking war with BD.

India cannot win any such war. Forget 1971. It was we who helped IA troops.

This thread is a good example of the disconnect between Bangladeshis and PDF Bangladeshis. The topic of the thread is about Bangladesh helping India to crush whatever remains of erstwhile insurgent groups in the North-east, and PDF Bangladeshis are talking about helping those insurgents wage war against India. Heck, some of them are even dreaming about making India's N-E a new country so that they will integrate with the highly desired Bangladesh. And in reality, the N-E groups are being decimated by joint co-operation of India and B'desh.

The news is about Bangladdesh helping India, and Bangladeshis are behaving as if they are hurting India. Learn from Pakistanis - even when they fund and train terror groups is India, they distance themselves from them, calling the "non-state-actors" and such. On the other hand, when their country helps the world by eliminating terrorists, Bangladeshis come here and boast about supporting the terrorists. With citizens like these...

Anyway, I have to point out something to Bangladeshis - to side with India or against her is not really a choice for b'desh. Pakistan is a nuclear power, and can get away (temporarily) with supporting armed groups against India, until people following that very same ideology make their own country a living hell (as is happening). On the other hand, if Bangladesh openly supported and gave shelter to armed groups inimical to India, you can bet that your country will have a short existence. This threat is merely hypothetical, because outside PDF, flesh and blood Bangladeshis are not going to do something suicidal by waging covert war against India. On the contrary - they are actively helping India, with the full understanding that a prosperous future awaits them only by keeping their powerful neighbours happy.

You can keep debating your awami league v/s BKZ stuff, and all that is your internal politics. But at the end of the day, how you behave with India will not depend on which political party is in power. Co-operation is your only choice.

Yea keep your delusions with yourself.. If you haven't noticed every rebellious movement is having shortage of man power now a days.. Where do you find Maoists near Delhi rather than in your dreams? And where the heck did New Delhi talked about war with you.. You are nothing else than a neighbor to us.. You people are behaving like India should accept all the bad things for the development of Bangladesh, it is not going to happen.. We have millions of people to feed and we are electing our government to safe guard our interest not yours.. Yes, mutual understanding is good but it does not mean every thing should be according to your way..Re read the thread and check who is actually talking about war here??

Yea right.. keep saying that.. may be you can sleep better at night!!

Ok supa pow a, before the AL came to power where were the rebel groups based and trained according to your own government? Your nuclear supa pow a was always begging us to stop the shut down their bases, do you have the guts to do anything then? No, you did zilch, nothing nada....get the point jack a**.

And what came of all that? Did the insurgents win a single inch of our territory? No.

We did not NEED to do anything against b'desh, and we still don't. As I explained clearly in my post, the threat was purely hypothetical. IN THE EVENT than b'desh hosts a terror group that actually has any consequence against us, b'desh will cease to exist.

Such a day won't come, because real Bangladeshis (not the PDF ones) know better than to wage covert war against India. Or anybody else, for that matter.

Then why constantly beg to us to shut them down if they were inconsequential? We don't have to actively support them, all we have to do see not actively hunt them down, that's the difference. You can't do zilch...if you could you would have done so before, something I am sure your simple mind can understand.

Actively hunting them and stopping them from reconstituting their infrastructure on our soil costs us money and resources, why should we spend that for the benefit of India when we get nothing in return, infact the opposite you renege on deals and backstabbing the AL gov.

Oh and another thing what's a real Bangladeshi? I thought that was anyone who holds a Bangladeshi passport, obviously you've never been to Bangladesh. The old indian loving fools that ran the AL are dying out of old age, the young generation of Bangladeshi's are more nationalistic and don't give a sh*t what India thinks! for them the look is broader, an a few of them are here on PDF.

By "real Bangladeshis", I meant the ones who actually run the country, formulate its policies, and work for its betterment, as opposed to the ones who spend their time ranting against India on a Pakistani defence forum.

If you prefer some other term, suggest it.

The fact of the matter is that despite PDF Bangladeshis being so virulently anti-India, dreaming of conquering India's NE and other such crap, the ones that I called "real" are working with India for the benefit of both countries.

So the distinction is between the reality on the ground and the dreamworld that PDF Bangladeshis wallow in. That is why I used the term "real" for the ones that have a real impact, not to suggest that PDF Bangladeshis are not Bangladesh nationals.

It's funny how we have all these Indians full of bravado, on this forum yet when they come to Dhaka they loose their bottle. What's up with that? Come on man up.

You've got no clue, the present AL gov got into power because of the previous governments corruption not because the general population loved india (just have a look at the number of Bangladeshi's supporting pakistan when India played against pakistan during the Asia cup as an example, it's not that we love pakistan it's that we dislike india more).

The AL gov is now detested for giving too much to india for no return, and are desperately trying to put a positive spin on it, they said we could trust india and that they would deliver on their promises, now look at them, they look stupid for trusting Indians and can't do anything. They are about to loose the next election.

The backlash of what mamtaji did and stupid way the AL believed the Indians is gonna hurt them big time, nothing that India does is for mutual benefit it's for India only, period.

to qualify as a real Bangladeshi, you need to join shahbag.

Despite Dhaka's persistent crackdown, around 200 rebels from India's northeast have managed to stay on in parts of Bangladesh's Chittagong Hill Tracts, says a report in 'Assam Tribune' quoting Indian Home Ministry sources.

The BSF took up this issue with the BGB during a recent meeting in Dhaka, it says.

The report quoting Home Ministry sources said the rebels are not maintaining any full-fledged camp in Bangladesh but they are staying in about 25 hideouts beyond the prying eyes of Bangladesh security forces.

These shelters are in Khagrachari, Bandarban and Rangamati districts of Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT).

The report says that most of the militants staying in Bangladesh belong to the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT).

But other groups, like the United Liberation Front of Assam (Paresh Barua faction), PLA and UNLF of Manipur, NSCN (I-M) and National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB), are also maintaining shelters in Bangladesh.

The Indian government is still not sure whether the NDFB members staying in Bangladesh belong to the Ranjan Daimary or Songbijit faction.

Daimary, former NDFB chairman, was handed to India by Bangladesh, like ULFA chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa and UNLF chairman Rajkumar Meghen, along with scores of other rebels’ leaders since 2009.

In the recent past, the NLFT took a few kidnapped persons to Bangladesh but the other militant groups are not indulging in any unlawful activity in that country, the 'Assam Tribune' report said.

As the militants are staying mostly in villages and do not move around with weapons, it is difficult for the security agencies of Bangladesh to nab them without specific information.

Though the family members of Paresh Barua are also living in Dhaka, India is not concerned on the issue of bringing them back to India.

Its effort is now focused on bringing back ULFA general secretary Anup Chetia so that he can be involved in the peace process.

Meanwhile, sources said that Bangladesh is concerned about smuggling of psychotropic substances, like banned cough syrup, in large quantity from India, while India is concerned about cattle smuggling.

The matter was raised during the recent BSF-BGB meetings.

It is believed that joint patrolling by the Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) in the vulnerable stretches of the international border would reduce the problems to a great extent, the report said quoting BSF officials.

Northeast India was annexed during the British Rule of India and now they want Independence from oppressive India and that is understandable. And Khalistan, Kashmir , Seven sister states and Sikkim also want Independence too.

Yea and we all know how that went, these Indians act all supa powa tough online but when they come to Bangladesh they all miraculously turn into a bunch of ball less hizras. Pakistanis kill their border guards and lopp off their heads an they do nothing, Chinese pitch tents on their land and they do nothing, now even Myanmar is challenging them, wow what a supa powa.

All these guys are good at is shooting unarmed little girls.

Your government has been blaming BD for hosting terror groups for quite a long time.Your government hosted the Chakma separatists for a very long time(Bangladeshi Insurgents Say India Is Supporting Them - NYTimes.com)....we haven't ceased to exist....Chakma insurgency has been crushed and your government is still talking with us about your insurgencies.....Your Hypothetical situation is very real and you have failed to 'wipe us of our existence' and 'defeat our lungi brigade with your Chakma soldiers'!Spare your 'we will nuke you'....'you will not exist' crap for your Nepali,Bhutani brothers.

If it isn't India running the BD government, then BD going to destroy India for these guys. Delusional is an understatement.

The BD government is cooperating with India so that India can deal with our problems without any foreign interference. Other than Nagaland the NE states are peaceful and BD certainly has played a part since the ISI paid BNP government was kicked out.
