Poor Muhammad Khan Junejo V2. Good for the country, reign cut short by the one who brought him when he tried to fly solo assert himself too much (in this case his electoral prospects for the future). Military establishments fail to learn the lesson (as with many things) that politicians no matter if hatched in their nurseries will always try to exert themselves ultimately. I think Unc Sam might be playing some games for that base after IK's absolutely not as well. They divide and rule. They can always get what they want if one side acquiesces to what they say and that side happens to be more powerful in the civil-military equation. I do think that IK has chosen the wrong time to confront Pakistan's biggest and most powerful mafia that pushes the country into political instability on purpose to protect its turf and expand its influence over how the state ought to run. This mafia is the prime reason for political instability and why foreign investor does not bother looking at Pakistan despite being one of the world's biggest markets. His government was already vulnerable due to record inflation and he has only exposed his flank to more destabilization via dharnas and whatnot (favorite tools in the mafia's toolkit). Khadim Rizvi's sapolia is being released from prison. Tahir Ul Qadri could also be imported. This BS would only stop when people of Pakistan who suffer the most from the mafia's machinations say enough like in Turkey. Otherwise, perpetual suffering is fate. That happens when civil governments deliver on the governance and economic front which PTI still has not managed.
Unfortunately, this PM like the ones before him also did not take a stand for what was right/right for the country, but rather "what was right for him, i.e. Faiz". Faiz thrives at politics, not so much at his job. Results are visible for all of us (those willing and able to SEE) in the shape of an extreme uptick in terrorist violence in the country.
