No Indian university figures in top 200 global list

These rankings are based on research done and infrastructure. Its a joke if we expect our so called IITs to be in top 50. They will be out of top 500 if this situation continues. IITs are known for the students coming form it but not the research coming from the university.

Out of the 7 that are ranked in the top 100. 5 universities are in the top 50.

26 UNIVERSITY OF HONG KONG (HKU)

34 THE HONG KONG UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (HKUST)

39 THE CHINESE UNIVERSITY OF HONG KONG (CUHK)

46 PEKING UNIVERSITY

48 TSINGHUA UNIVERSITY

82 NATIONAL TAIWAN UNIVERSITY (NTU)

88 FUDAN UNIVERSITY

Oh please.

Only 3 of those are from mainland China.

Taiwan and Hong Kong have different Governments.

It is a real bummer that none of the universities from India featured in the top 100 .

We need to step up the education sector .

Yet Indians do figure in high positions in almost all the Fortune 500 companies.

Our universities might lack in infrastructure, but not in quality of brains.

the article has mentioned 4 criteria for assessement. Infrastructure is not in the criteria

Yet Indians do figure in high positions in almost all the Fortune 500 companies.

any source to support your claim?

Universities of our dirt poor nations in Asia can't compete with universities of the industrialised nations. They beat us hands down and they're between 100-200 years ahead of us.

I'm surprised University of Bristol isn't there.
Top 50 is still pretty good.
It just doesn't quite have the worldwide prestige as some of the others, Bristol's a lovely city though.
They've been accused of being elitist whereas perhaps some of the others have moved on a bit?
