What's new

No concessions' to Turkey on rights in migrant deal: Hollande

If inhumanity is the maxim, then yeah he is totally a badass!

With all due respect. They are muslims. They should ask their muslim brothers for help. The only thing they get here is mud, ice, rain and tear gas. They are a threat. If we rise the pressure enough they will even run to saudi arabia.

Well, good luck trying then....2000-3000 refugees founds their way into Greece daily.

I have been saying this for months....let's see if you can stop them by physical means....these guys escaped ISIS, passed through mine-fields, risked being shot by Turkish soldiers...and you say "We are going to stop them by walls".... good luck.

As long they don´t learn how to switch through solid walls through osmosis we are pretty safe.

The new plan was announced today. The boarder will be closed down at entire southern europe. First extension will be between Bulgaria and Turkey now.

But we should just wait and see how the Idomeni situation turns out. Looks like the people there got broken. They start to leave and give up.

How wonderfully of you to distinguish people based on religion. You shouldn't see them as "muslims" but human beings. Though that depends on how much of a human you are yourself. Why is it Turkey's responsibility to care for 3 million Syrian refugees? Just because they share same religion as Turks? We are not even of same culture or ethnicity, going by that token only Arabic people should look out for Syrians since they share same history, background, culture and civilization.
Cause i can guarantee you, Turkish and Arabic culture are two completely different things.

With all due respect. But we don´t want them here. They are muslims and best stay in etheir muslim areas. They have no future here and will never make europe their home.

Make no mistake, we are at war and we will not allow the enemy in. This here is the Bataclan concert hall in Paris:

Those so called "refugees" bring nothing but death, crime and rape and have no place in europe. The sooner they realize this, the better.

Law also forces you to care for them. According to the geneva contract refugees must go to the next country of their boarder whcih is responsible for them. Don´t push your burden on us.

If you are unable to cater for them, push them to the saudis. Thats none of our business.

@MarkusS

Look at what some rich arabs say about the Syrians...... Now imagine if this was an European saying this....
Total hypocrisy.

@Sinan
Lol, he is saying ..."It is not right for us to accept people different from us".....They are Arabs, we are Turks...aren't they different from us.... ?

I know their stomach pain...Syrians are not conservative like them in Islam....they fear placing millions of Syrians in GCC would change the fabric of their system (Salafi ideology).

What i love about this refugee crisis is the hypocrisy of EU.

A few weeks ago Russian Jets start to bombard Syrian cities with cluster bombs...as a result a new wave of Refugees start to march on Turkish border(70.000 people)....Luckly we have finished the massive wall on the border and kept them out. Give them tents and located them in a refugee camps just across the border (in Syrian land).

EU's reaction ? While saying "close your Western borders" EU said "open your borders and allow all of them in".

Erdoğan's reaction was simple, "if we open to the borders, we will take them with buses and planes from the border and ship them all to the Western borders, which would also be opened."

Then EU stopped barking.....:disagree:

IMO, EU is not very different from MiddleEastern countries.....they both understand the language of power.

The EU is very different in a way because it has no official voice. I have no problem with turkey building walls and you will find that large parts of european leaders doesn´t care if you kill them. Its just that the left is louder.

Do as you please Sinan. Its your boarder. I have all sympathy for you defending it. And i expect that you have the very same sympathy for us defending our nation as well.

No when we defend.....EU is like "Evil Turkey, No human rights, No Democracy, No respect for human life".....When "Russia bombs cities, hospitals, elementary schools".....just silence from EU.....because Russia is too scary for them.....

We don't recognize Geneva convention or whatsoever....if Russia can invade and annex a country, bomb civilians and get away with it...we will also act for our interests and give a fvck about what others would think.

If it is for Turkey's interest, i see no wrong in black-mailing EU, giving finger to Russia, bombing US allies in Syria.

You didn´t get me wright. Do what must be done. Ignore our leftist idiots. They are just the loudest ones.

I recently heared you shot 9 illegals. Thats fine for me and i assure you the great majority of europe as well.

Nations have no friends, just interests. We both know Turkey will never be part of Europe. Just as you blackmail us we can blackmail you if it suits our interests. If we act openly like that its far more fair.

I ask you, do you honestly believe anyone in italy gives a flying **** if you shot illegals? or fight the kurds? Its your country and we couldn´t care less.

My 1st goal is to keep my family and friends safe
My 2nd goal is to keep Italy safe
my 3rd goal is to keep europe safe.

Turkey? is a business partner for me. Nothing more and nothing less. The only thing i think sucks in turkey is your inability to do things in silence and discret. You believe we don´t kill? On the mediterranean nobody hears your scream. And i would suspect the same from the turkish boarder at syria...

I don´t see Erdogan as a dictator. he acts way to clumsy for that. Autocratic maybe. But i couldn´t care less. If you are happy with him, so be it. Italy never had a problem with Gaddafi as well and we make great business deals with al-Sisi in egypt as well.

I would be happy if EU treat Turkey like they treat Saudi Arabia and stop trying to interfere in our internal affairs....

No my friend you wouldn´t. Saudi Arabia is treated like a dog. Like any 3rd world country similar to them. The ruling gate keepr al-Saud is kept like an expensive toy, the country stuck in a oil trap without a future. Once the oil is done they will sink on same level they were before.

Believe me you dont want be treated like them.

.
Greece is the only country that "needs" Turkish help. The rest of Europe could protect itself by simply cutting Greece off through fencing.

.
:D
Your posts literally make me laugh. Do you think we die to join your crusade army? Do you think we consider ourselves European? We are Asian and very proud of it.

Is it common among Turks especially from western part of Turkey to hold views like your's? If so then good. Turkey simply does not belong in Europe on the whole and Europeans don't want them. It is far far better to really 'Look East'.

Back to the topic: I think Americans should bear the highest $$ in the refugee protection because of the mess in the region created by the neocons with the invasion of Iraq in 2003. I also think the robust hordes of men trying to piggy-back the refugees should be kicked out of Europe. I think there should be a concerted effort by all powers to create truly safe-havens in Syria and Iraq for the refugees. I HATE to use this term here but if it takes creating some kind of concentration camps then so be it: Provide good life--very good life--but make sure bad elements are not allowed in or out. I had advocated similar steps in the height of despair inside Pakistan between 2007-2013 to isolate the terrorists.

@MarkusS Don't you remember how Orban was literally insulted with all the names by the European leaders ? Seems like he was right, but nobody wanted to listen to him.

He has fair points such as that free visas would mean being flooded by Turkish Kurds. (As a result of the conflict in Eastern Turkey.)
-
To stop the flow, instead of spending billions of € to a somewhat dictator in the making,we could just chase the boat people from the European waters and send back those that entered the European mainland.
Building walls also showed to be effective to stop the flow of migrants, leaving the "no borders, welcome refugees, peace and lovists" in embarrassment.

Not just Kurds, I believe.

There are a considerable opposition of the current government who are fearful of their lives would leave the country if Europe granted free visa regime.

I do not think Europe will ever let that happen, even though I would like to see the secular-minded millions of Turkey have a chance to start a new life somewhere else.

Maybe the US is a good place for them but it requires lots of money and a high level of education to have a chance in the US.

Especially with all those bombings at the heart of the country as well as in other popular cities like Istanbul, I can only imagine how scary a life it must be.

What Turkish government did/has been doing in Syria was going to end up with a blowback. The US has done a similar policy but it has:

a. geographical advantage (isolated from the Middle East)
b. capability

Turkey has neither of these two advantages. And worse, the government's strategy-making is nonsensical. There is no coherence, no clear lines of policy. I guess most of the developed world already has given up on the current government.

What the Turkish government has done in Syria was no less than a suicide mission, frankly. I just wish Turkey will turn back to its secular roots of its revolutionary founder.
