Yeah, it's gonna be extremely hard to close your border. It's not as simple as closing a few doors, that's not how this works.


The EU has been stringing along Turkey for decades, promising EU membership, but then saying it will never get it, no matter what. By the way, the EU needs Turkey more than the other way around.

We don´t need turkey. They isolated themself and are at crisis with evry single neighbour including russia which plays with them now.

This is our future and security that we won´t place in the hands of the turks.

I don´t trust them. Thats my good right and has nothing to do with security.

There wont be visafree for turks.There will never be EU membership for turkey. Why should it? Its neither european nor a christian country. Its a dictatorship. This has nothing to do with racism.

There will be no visa deal since several countries already said they will veto this plan.

As i said, enjoy your "magnitude" economy while you have it. Your debt ridden country won't be able to handle rising competition. You are already out of the game, we consider Germany as the real competition. Population wise you are few and old, mentality wise you are too lazy to even consider being a competitor. And your GDP hangs on a magnitude of debt

Even if the issue didn't exist, there would be zero change of Turkey being invited into the EU. The French and the Germans simply don't want Turkey into a European block, cyprus was just an excuse.

of course cyprus was just an excuse. There is not one european country that wants turkey in the EU. There isn´t even a majority to give them visa free travel.

It was a bad decission to create hope where no reality is.

Turkey is far from isolated, and the EU does economically need Turkey. They're only in a crisis with Russia, and like it or not, the EU is partly to blame for the tension between Turkey and Russia.

EU is not a closed of block, it's highly integrated with the world community, so it's fate is not it's own alone. Whether you want to accept it, Turkey does control EU's security, as it is the main gateway to EU, for refugees. If you want the refugee flow to stop, the EU needs Turkey's cooperation, which is why both are in deep talks.

Also, it doesn't matter if you trust them or not, it's up to your government to decide, not you.

Turkey isn't a dictatorship, it's a flawed democracy, but that hasn't stopped the EU from accepting flawed democracies into it's ranks.

Despite the fact that Turkish borders cross Europe, meaning that Turkey can be considered European, it's a MUSLIM country that's the problem. The EU members against Turkey don't care about Turkish economic contribution, and it's stabilizing affect it would have on the EU, they just care that Turkey is non-Christian.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. The EU is already facing major internal rivalries and issues, why would the Turks even wanna be apart of that anymore?

Our PM will veto the turk deal as well.

Italy, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Cyprus, Slovenia, Czech republic, Austria already made clear they won´t allow via free entry for turkey. Now France said in public that this will never going to happen.

I´m quite happy with the current developments.

We don´t need turkey to seal off greece. The refugee numbers dropped to nearly zero in EU recently. Spain shows how it works. And once they know its hopeless and they will be stuck in greece, it will stop by itself.

last time we went at war with you we crippled the ottoman empire and took all its libyan parts into our colonial status. My dear friend you should concentrate on your own country which fights a civil war inside its own boarders with its kurdish minority.

I might also add that the current collapse of the turkish tourism industry is a big profit for italy.
