I mean these idiots don't even know how a Presidential convoy works? First of all, the PM travels in a bomb proof car with layers of other bomb proof cars surrounding him with jammers installed. A 15-20 car convoy forms enough protection to withstand pretty much anything the TTP can throw. Even before the PM travels, there is a complete sweep of the area before hand to detect any trace of IED. But in this case, the entire road is closed down for hours, with more than 57 cars convoy just to show off and satisfy the ego of our dear corrupt PM. Heck, even Hamza Shahbaz or far flung members of Sharif Family travel in huge convoys but we have idiots like these who think its perfectly fine. No wonder the security of the country is going to sh** because majority of our Police is deployed in VIP Duty.

What is this "protocol" supposed to achieve? Security? I can easily see several ways to cause mayhem and danger for the convoy without even trying hard.

I dont know who he/she is.. may be they should reassess the risk..
but PM(whoever sits in that post) deserves adequate protection... what do people expect, wait for something to happen? 57 may be excessive but come on, you dont want traffic to be closed? what if a fast moving vehicle collides with convoy and goes boom?
there is possibility of show off but I dont believe it is done at cost of the protection, VIP security is handled by professionals, right?
