The real players in Nato are France,Germany,Turkey and Itlay other members shall be crushed within few days if a war with Russia happens and America has nothing much to lose as the war will be in Europe not in America so still all the damage and pain shall be felt by European countries. Hence Turkey is important for Nato to remain strong

We are talking about two different things, you are talking about Turkish military capability, and I am talking about Turkey "essentiality" within NATO as seen by the western world.

Turkey must think about all its allies before thinking about going into war. Its not only about turkey and russia we will all be pulled into this war.
Our relations with russia have been warming up after so long. And now our turk allies will drag us into this mess as well because Pakistan cannot leave its ally turkey in any conflict.
No one will gain. If their is a war between Ankara and Moscow, Asia will never be the same again. American and Europeans will not damn care.

There would be ZERO benefit for Russia / NATO to go to war.

NATO is now reconstituted around East European countries like Poland etc. In the US view even countries like Italy and Spain are somewhat irrelevant.

The US stands to gain if Russia and Turkey go to war, since such a war will definitely weaken Russia.

Of course we wont support turkey in a war against russia. The idea alone is ridicolous.

Turkey escalates the situation with russia, thats none of our business. I don´t see why italy or europe as a whole should risk lifes for turkish idiocy in this case.

Beside that, the news is real. Italian newspapers as well as german one say the same. As far as i know even Hollande himself said that NATo will not step in to support turkey in this case.

And this is why NATO is irrelevant.

This isn't about NATO, this is about the US.

Turkey's main failure has been not to take everything that it wanted from NATO when it was one of its main members.

Erdogan needs to quickly fill in the gaps in Turkey's defenses which it previously assumed would be filled by NATO on the basis of dealing with the countries which are Turkey's two greatest enemies: Russia, and Iran.

Are you talking about some life time sanction on Pakistan. Plus, India is already after Pak nukes. One mistake of Pakistan or any single nuke leave Pak space , will be strip off. Because, US is providing safety equipment for these nuclear asset. U prints are easily traceable ....Pakistan provide everything to friendly countries, but nuclear asset is " No Go Zone".
Pakistan already under scrutiny after, Libya,Iran,North Korea transfer of equipment issue.

NATO was created to defend against a USSR attack in Western Europe.

USSR doesn't exist anymore.

NATO should have been dissolved in 1991

Turkey shouldn't even be in NATO and it should never be allowed to join the EU

NATO is big question mark after 1991. Do you really think , to deal with terrorism in EU need NATO type force for pre emptive strike remote region out of Europe. And need better countering measure to deal with terrorism in Europe.

It's true that due to an usual offensive type of diplomacy deployed by republicans dealing with them is much more easier than their rivals ... in fact Republicans are not that much tricky and in general we've had much problems with Democrat presidents in comparison .... and still I think Bernie Sanders is a better candidate for Iran ... someone like Obama that at least has some logic to share unlike a cowboy ...
