I was thinking of picking up common fundoo ( I am not just referring to the garden variety talib exclusively) tropes and deconstructing them- theologically, philosophically, ethically, factually and then presenting the unpacked trope for the people.

To be able to do that, you have to have excellent command over the theological, philosophical ,ethical and factual subjects or sections that drive the fundoo. Moreover, there has to be an equal power of belief in his prime driver to counter him.

@Dillinger

Your signature puts it in context, who will we feed.

The Hindu vs. Muslim fracas on the thread is basic skulduggery when people want to take a swing rather than unpack the issue at hand cogently.

I don't care about what kind of religion someone practices. My issue is with Al-Qaidas endless acts of terror. No, I'm not worried about what kind of an image they may offer to non-Muslims. According to them I'm not longer Muslim, which is fine with me. Al-Qaida killed us here, how can I tolerate seeing them killing harmless people? who might be next? Another terror attacks here in there?

Best approach, use the core of their argument.. the Quran and Hadiath. But dont be afraid of their copy paste translations and arguments. Rather , look to more understanding sources. Sufi interpretations are better for guidance in most aspects and are also available online. Usually, all that it is are fundoos making a mountain out of a molehill. Find the molehill and the whole talk of the mountain will collapse.

Yes, it's basic Social Psych: persuasion by peripheral route. I want to explain it to the other people how it works and how to counter it. You are right on the mark.

Anyone got GTA V or FIFA here?

on PS3.

some divine punishment will befall them or some harm will come to them if they try to argue against religious text ,

Bingo!

Herein lies the entire problem that faces the Muslim world. They are afraid to question everything or stand by what they believe as well; fickle either way in terms of their commitment to their own logic.

Its not the Quran nor the Sunnah that they use for inspiration but clergy.. suddenly someone like Maududi has the keys to salvations and not God.

Yes Therein lies our problem , Mr.Bond .

What power does the God of Mohammed have , which the local Mullah or as I call them the God's viceroy can muster for the common people ?

@Oscar That's the whole point, I can't take on a talib- I know next to nothing of the religion involved- BUT people like you can. That's why I mentioned you and stated that we need people who can go toe to toe with every "mullah" out there.

Tell me if there's a working PS3 emulator which can run GTA V . Want to try out .

I dont think there are any working PS3 emulators so you may have to buy it on PS3, Xbox or for PC when it comes out later.

Its an amazing game, totally worth it!

Yara, Oscar, you know of the ground realties better than most others here. Do you seriously think that they can be fixed by engaging them @ any level? I mean really, god honest truth please!
