What's the big deal? Just the other day i rode my motorcycle naked and be be honest with everyone, i'm naked right now.

its not that big a deal.

i was in goa during Christmas. there are very very few naked "firangis" there. most cover themselves up pretty decently.

and for those talking about protecting our culture, remember , everything evolves, including culture.

this statement by the honorable minister is a gross overstatement.

also public indecency (read nudity) is illegal in india so such statements are redundant.

Soon with this (backwards) theory of EVOLUTION all of India may soon find itself at STONE-AGE ERA.

Minister was wrong in "promoting the threat" perception, but may be the poor guy want to emphasise, that nude or semi-nude display in front of (s*x starved) crowd, will bring some unwelcome / unpleasent gestures and reactions.

I have seen Jain with white clothes all over the body, never a NUDE jain, in open defiance of others. Check your facts right.

Probably not in Delhi, and you can confirm my statement by checkin with anybody who have travelled all over India.

I hav nothing against anybody and I do support all the cultural diversties and consider it as an equal right of an individual to be able to walk around in nude, if he wanted to. But there should be a specified zone for such activites otherwise it may conflict with general public's life.

We legalised gay marriages then whats whats the problem with nude beaches..We can afford some nude people also ..all kind of peoples like Bal Thackrey ,Lalu Prasad Yadav ,Mayawati,Mamta Banergie etc etc are residing here ..some nude people wont make any change

Add to that if we can spend Rs 5.42cr and 100's of security personnel on security of Kasab we can safely put a few resources so that people who either support/denounce nudity for whatsoever reasons don't get offended by each others views/practices.

Nudity in Goa is nothing new actually. I am not sure but afaik it's actually declined now from the '70s. It was a hippy's paradise back then and beaches like vagator beach was quite popular and also relaxed towards nudity(again just heard about it). Now I have been to Goa twice, but haven't seen any nude or even topless tourist.

Every religion be it Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, all of them are against gay relations. But at least secular countries would have to accept gay marriages. It is their choice whether or not they follow any religion, constitution cannot stop them on the basis of religion.

What Indian culture say about it. How many times you have hosted these nude sadhus to your home for a charity lunch, for example? Or any one in your near and dear ones, for that matter.

There nudity is not welcome at personal level, even by most liberal Indians. These nude sadhus can not expect a decent response untill they dress normally, from common man.

What it is to do with tourism, bye the way. How many foreigners visit India to watch nude sadhus than, say, Taj Mahal.

We are always more than ready to present and project ourselves as PUUPETS, when ever any thing is offered with the wraper of MODERNITY AND LIBERALISM.

dude u r asking me about anybody willing to invite nude sadhus to home, we aint going to invite russian tourists to our home either. My point, which u failed to understand, is if sadhus can walk around in nude and celebrate Kumbamela, why dont tourists can. No point in talking abt inviting them to home or giving them respect. They are called sadhus and holy men by people, might need to check the meaning of Sadhu probably. I would not find it offending if a nude man pass me by, but I will beat the craap outa him if he jump on me physically and sexually, same with females (but I might not get offened that easy around gurls)
