Why is this a big deal now??? Goan beaches always have had nudity!!! Infact, there is one certain secluded beach in karwar, karnataka where the craziest parties and craziest everything happens and lots more in Goa. Be it drugs, be it trance music ..Goa is the hippe capital of the world!!!



as far as rape is concerned, with drugs money and crazy people it cannot be avoided, not as a one on one comparison but a popular destination in the USA, Miami recorded 101 rapes in 2006

As i said its not about nudity. Its just that the Indian minister is piss.ed off over lack of security or whatever you may call it to the foriegn tourists at Goa.

And the recent rape of Russian girl had even sparked reaction from Russian Govt.

The minister's statement is merely a hogwash and he should keep in mind that his statement is only in bad taste that could offend Russian Govt too.

Nudity is not legal in India and hence there is no bad taste nor offense. I think there is more concern over terrorist attacks from outside on such popular destinations more than nudity and crime. As I said before, crime goes hand in hand with such destinations, not saying we should sit quietly but its harder to control.

What minister said was wrong he is there to protect ppl. If government thinks some code i required they can bring a law and enforce that but before that get sm more cops around.

But I think they way Goa is Babes , drugs etc its definitely crime prone and one should be careful.

It sounds like BS. Some elements of Goans are rapidly radicalizing against foreign tourists. There are several Europeans being murdered there on a monthly basis.

I think it is one of the best destination for tourist in south asia...
some of the beaches are really awesome...
last time i visited there i found no. of foreigner in goa are really rising.....
but the drug racket is also expanding......

jana ji is quite correct. minister is pushing blame onto victims instead of protecting them. if tourists are being killed then we must punish the criminals and not look for a reason to blame the victims. minister should be kicked out for his stupid comment. he is justifying attacks on the victim. Goa is long known to eurpoeans and other whites as destination for nudity on white sanded clean beaches. if we are making money out of this tourist destination then we must protect our customers. shame on this minister for trying to justify his incompetence and i hope that more security will be given to the tourist areas in future
